Beautiful photos there Chris. Looks like some mountains bikes came through there as well.
Cheers
Being a (an ex) cyclist and now a hiker, I have mixed feelings about cycling on the hile of the UK. We have different 'rules' here, in short. There are bridleways that are open to horses, cyclists and hikers, then there are 'footpaths' that are open to just hikers. One problem is that cyclists do not seem to accept this, or don't know it, some believe that they can ride wherever they want, at whatever speed they want. I don't know if there has been a BAD accident yet, but if there is and the lawers get on to it..... who knows There are also RUPPs but that is another story

Yes, we have the same situation here as well. What many people fail to realize is how the wearing from any particular traffic can wear down the path itself. The tires from the bicycles, especially mountain bikes an wear a path down faster than regular foot traffic.

Sad to state that many people do not pay attention to the signs indicating which traffic is allowed on the path.

Cheers
