Might have to get down to Annecy and watch the final day finish....

I think the Tour de Suisse will produce the Tour Champion, not the Critérium Dauphiné Libéré(chauvinist...moi)

Let's ask some serious pre-Tour questions?

Which LAB will (verb) be doing the results-testing?

On which of the first three road-stages, will (verb) the first Prudhomme-approved course (I believe this is his first?) send 10-100 riders into a DEATHTRAP?
(Bad final-sprint layouts? Unusual British roadway priorities/roundabouts/barrier s? Unusual crowd control/publicity items?)

Too bad they can't do a Team Time Trial through the Chunnel!

You already know which lab will be testing for the ASO.

Even if they could have done a TTT through the Chunnel, the cameramen wouldn't be able to film that part of the race as they wouldn't be able to acquire any signal to the satellite.

Who saw the crash at the end of the first stage of the Tour de Suisse?!

Why can't organizing committees EVER think about the safe ending of a sprint-stage?:-(

Seeing Oscar Freire tumble, Gregory Rast also, was no way to culminate their pre-Tour 'training'.

But 'la course s'annonce CHAUD' this week!
(the race announces itself: HOT)

That's surprising as most sprint stages seem to have enough room planned into the course for safety of the sprinters.

I didn't see this race, so I'm hoping that those who did may provide some info on what happened there.

That's ME !?

They came to a 85° left turn, that had a typical European barrier protecting the round points and the pedestrian crosswalks...

The first 10-12 made it through fine, but as the peleton 'bulge' appeared, someone went over the concrete edge, and the typical falling domino-effect took over...

If I were Chief of course, I would:
a- not approved that final turn;
b- in the alternative, convinced them to establish a 'narrowing barricade' that would have funneled the racers properly...

Every year, some cycling accidents are 100% idiotic: not for the riders' actions, but those preventable actions that occur.

NB: in that stage (my GF has no TV, so I suffer when I work at her I-net connection!), they also did 150m of 'Paris-Roubaix' action across a street-repair project, and two or three times, were frantically waved to the left lane to avoid single-lane closures for other street repair efforts!

Very good points across the board ZENman.

Who the hell is the idiot that puts a race course with a road repair project inside of it.

OR

Who in hell is so stupid in not waiting till the race is over before putting a raod repair project into the race course.

We had the HELLASCIOUS thunder-lightning storm of all time last night... I'll blog my photo of a great flash sometime soon...

But am just signing in to say that, after an ugly morning and a shortened course for Crans-Montana (high pass = HAIL), they're about to mount the climb, in glorious sun, and I'll tell you who I liked .... after!(or mañana...)

This thread's about TdF faves, and I'm (was, anyway) using the Crans-Montana climb to see who looked HOT for next week...

Cancellara won the Swiss Nat'l TT, so he's gassed gassed gassed...

Just remember you ZENrascal, that you have to make your predictions before the start of this years TDF! That means before July 7, 2007!!!

Cheers Rascal
