Besides the FFC federation and the LNDD?

NB: in French, a 'detour' is a 'deviation'(for traffic)... so this year, I welcome you all to

Le DEVIATION de France...

You are of course all aware that:

AFLD is 'donating' LNDD services to FFC (FED FR de CYCLISME);

FFC is in charge of 'ALL RULES AND DISCIPLINE, Logistics and everything that the UCI did';

ASO has signed contracts saying 'if my team has a doping case, we will pay 100,000 Euros to FFC';

We do NOT know, if that is a total fine, or a per-incident fine, since we can't get a copy (yet) of any team's signed contract;

We know, that the AFLD has 'invented' new rules that are not online, or if the ones that ARE online are valid, there's way too many conflicts for this race to come off ... smoothly,

We also do NOT know, if any rider is 'witch-hunted' into the 24 hr 'guilty verdict' pile, if that 'suspension or penalty' will be valid ANYWHERE other than in an ASO or FFC race...
BUT still:

Frank Schleck, Mr Superman (TdS reference) is going to win this puppy-Tour... unless ASO wants to continue stabbing Bjarne Riis in the back.

SO are you predicting anyone?

today is the last day...

This year I am pulling for slipstream, because if they win ASO will have a cow. And I would like to see what would happen if the LNDD pulls the same crap with a team that has it's own in house drug testing and they have to compare results. I wonder how come the teams do not ask for anything in their contracts. such as if the lab comes up with a false positive how much are they going to pay the teams? but, honestly they are crazy for signing such a lop sided contract. I would at lest ask for the testing be independent.

Chris & Raymond

Can you both answer a question for me?

Erik Zabel admitted to dopping, yet he has been allowed to race in the TDF 2007.

Bjarne Riis admitted to dopping, yet he wasn't allowed to come to the TDF 2007 as team manager.

I don't know the answer to that, it is not ME who enforces the rule. BUT at least he admitted his 'crime'(see the last parragraph)
Zabel's confession was triggered by accusations of former Team Telekom masseur Jef d'Hont from Belgium and the confessions of Bert Dietz, Udo Bölts, Christian Henn all former members of Team Telekom.

In d'Honts book, of which excerpts where printed in the German political magazine Der Spiegel in April 2007, he accused members of Team Telekom of systematic and organized doping with EPO in the mid-1990s.[5] Zabel rested during certain sentences about his son, who is a successful cyclocross rider, who should grow into the sport without having to enhance his body by any means except for training. During this statement and briefly after, Zabel rested calmly on his chair in tears.

He is rare amongst sports people in admitting to drug usage in the past, while still currently competing

Thanks for answering the question Chris.

That is a case of double standards being conducted by the ASO. If they really want to rid the sport of cycling, than they need to deal with everyone on the same level.

You certainly don't seem bothered by this going on.

I would not have asked the question if I knew the answer Chris. But, I do see double standards when they're full blown in everyones face.

I'm looking to see if Bjarne Riis is with his CSC team in this years race.

I believe that if an organization kicks one rider out for admitting to doping, than all others admitting to cheating should recieve the same treatment.

Bjarne Riis was recently reintstated by the ASO in winning the TDF. Reason for that was that his adminition of doping took place after the ten year period.

Cheers

I just spent about ten minutes looking for the post I read, from *France*, and one certain poster/poser for whom I have lost all respect and any desire for dialogue.

BUT, in the post that he wrote, he added 'for the next three weeks, I'll not be here very much, my work for the Tour de France will keep me occupied'(ZENparaphrased from memory)

AND,
The significance of that, is that myself and SEVERAL other 'WADA-rational-detractors' had asked notre cher ami, if he was here as a DISINFORMATIONIST for the Tour or LNDD (some of you remember his famous 'you'd be surprised to know who my cousin is' retort)...

AND2...
Since he has now admitted he's not some pathetic old piece of Brooks saddle dirt, but is an active trumpet-blaring cog (small) in the vast ASO money making empire, I just want to get it on the record that everything he ever wrote wasn't because he's an old has-been who longs for the good-ole-days when 'cough-hack' HIS SPORT WAS PURE...

So if anyone runs across that post from Monsieur Nostalgie, please let me know...

I remember that post ZENman. I always wondered why he wasn't willing to say who his cousin was.

On a more positive note, it's been a great year for Spain. They won the European football cup and they won the Wimdelon tennis trophy in the mens division along with a stage win in the TDF.

Cheers

What a pathetic pair of clowns you are.

Raymond (aged 73) On my annual holiday following the tour.

One thing is certain, Landis did not deserve clueless clowns such as you supporting him.

Raymond (enjoying a great tour)

The only clueless individual here is you and Chris.

What happened to your French football champions from last year Raymond? I always wondered what football players were involved in Operation Puerto and why they were never named.

Yes, LNDD is so squeky clean. Than why did the British Tennis Federation change to another drug testing lab so suddenly? Me thinks that they don't trust LNDD or the French government.

Lets not forget that long ago a French politician had actually approached a member of the British government about France becoming a part of the UK.

Now before you blow a gasket Raymond, this is a historical fact that I had found on the Internet, while I am researching data for a book I'm in the process of writing.

I've heard this someplace and it sounds true: the way cycling is going, it'll be just like boxing where there are 1000 associations which call themselves the international federation and have 1000 different world champions and ranking leaders.

Oh well... on with the show.

Hi Chris, so glad so have you back here. I was wondering what happened to all our friends. You know, it's almost 2 years now that this forum is running and I really miss you guys when you go AWOL.
It's winter and it's been raining for 3 weeks. I'm due for my first mtb race on the 19th of this month and I have not been on a bike for a month. I had a bike built especially for me and, I can not ride it!! This is so frustrating, I feel like climbing the walls.
How are you doing? How're the chickens and do you have some pigs going? Are you coming to South Africa for the soccer world cup? Give me some news please!!
Cheers
Pieter
