1 What exactly are you smoking? Or do you seriously think that the organizers of one of the most publicized charity events in the entire country were stealing credit card info? Now go crawl back into your panic room. |

'Some "Stupid" Guy': I never said they were stealing credit card info! No, it wasn't stolen- I didn't state that! People were simply taken advantage of via credit card manipulation... there's a difference there! And this is quite disrespectful of those who participated- you'd think all funds would be appreciated and and participants wouldn't be penalized... welcome to Pelotonia, perhaps not the most publicized charity event, but proven to be the most greedy and disrespectful!
Now go hide under a desk in embarrassment. |

I signed up for Pelotonia this year and raised more than my minimum, so there was no charge on my credit card other than the registration ($100) and my donations to other riders.
They were very clear up front that this is a *commitment* and that if you say you're going to raise $1,000-$2,000, then you have to guarantee your commitment with a credit card in order to participate. This tour is *not for everyone*, only those who are willing to pay the minimum if they cannot fundraise it. I don't feel the least bit sorry for anyone who signed up knowing this and didn't work hard enough to fundraise the minimum. After all, 100% of the rider funds go to cancer. This is *not* your ordinary bike-a-thon, so if that's your cup of tea, if you can't hack raising some serious money for cancer research, then respectfully... go somewhere else. |

Honestly Pelotonia was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I also raised well over my minimum fund raising goal and knew what i was getting into when i signed up. Pelotonia is part of my life now, and I can't wait for Pelotonia 10.
As for Zendarski, I feel sorry for you and it's unfortunate that there will always be people like you who can find fault in even the best of things. You embarrass me. |

To clarify, you signed up to raise x amount of dollars. If you didn't get that x amount, your credit card was charged the difference. Simple as that. You signed up knowing that.
And if you rode, you'd understand how much work was put into the actual event and watching out for us rides. I'd hate to have people in there who didn't try to fundraise, ate up the costs to run the event, and took in all the rewards that riders got for accomplishing their goals. Having that credit card stipulation might have hindered some people from participating, but I believe it made the actual ride run a lot more smoothly. |

I signed up for Pelotonia with 5 other riders, and we agreed to fundraise together. The day before the race I was sooo exicted to be done with the fundrasing, it was exhausting!! Our team had exceed our goal a few days before the race and I had decided that I never wanted to do anything with these kind of requirements again! That all changed after Pelotonia!! It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and I cant wait to participate next year!! It was amazing to see all the concer survivers lining the course, just too amazing for words. Good luck to everyone riding next year, see ya in August!!:)
