Alberto did NOT break the rules but cycling is still considered a "gentlemanly" sport and if the leader has a flat or mechanical in the last 100 meters, long standing rules of etiquette and protocol say he wins - but it is NOT in the "official" rules.
I will say that Alberto had better start looking over his shoulder and NOT expect any help. He trashed his own teammate Vino the other day and now he's trashed Andy. Alberto has pissed off a lot of people.
