After so many riders being really caught, can we really say it is even possible to win so many times without doping? If he would have won a couple times and then stopped it would be believable.
Look at the list of Tour winners being caught and admitting to it.
Remember Bjarne Riis wining and having several tests and he was never caught. But then later admitting he had used doping. For me this is a perfect example you can avoid being caught.

I've watched so many hours of cycling and even taken days off at work to watch the Tour de France. And those years with Lance were not really exciting years and that's the annoying part. Here in The Netherlands they spend many hours talking about the TDF and it has been such a waste of time.

Is it possible to win 7 times the TDF with at least 10 other guys on doping???

Anybody seen those documentaries about the Ben Johnson times before the Seoul games? Those guys knew exactly when to use and not get caught... well almost never... like Lance!

BTW... more money more problems...

Its not just about the winners doping that people need to realise its also the Domestiques who ride at the front thrashing themselves to a standstill as the Team Leader sits in protected saving 30 to 50% in energy depending on the stage, the same can be said for sprinters also. These guys cannot expend the huge amounts of energy every day on behalf of the team without some help that came in the form of PED's because the sponsors demanded it and the riders demanded more money and they got it and if you were with Armstrong you got the most.

PED's have been in existing since Sport began and wont go away and people need to realise its not just about the winner its the rest as well. If you cannot do a job in a Cycling team your out and who will pick you up as a rider after that as whole Peleton see who can ride and not.

I have zero respect for those who now feel its right to spill the beans after they have had theirs all these years but obviously it wasnt enough and they want more.

There can only be 1 Team Leader and from these only 1 winner and those who win are in fact the best as they beat everyone one else on a level playing field regardless if it was compliant or not and anyone who follows Cycling knows what the deal was and is and who was the best and the same goes for the present day.

If anyone thinks that any Sport is clean needs a reality check and if it clenses their soul and moral high ground and makes them feel better to slate Armstrong then you are not being realistic and you are very much deluded as well as being as hipocritical to focus on 1 BIG name and not everyone else including those who will testify and escape punishment for it.

If he is to get it then serve the same dish out to everyone else cutting him down and then we shall see how many are willing to speak up without any deal. They all knew what was happening at the time and they were happy to live off his name and much better ability back then and now they want to live off it again by condeming him for their own sins. It absolutely reeks of hipocrasy and for ME the stink is greater from them and USADA for the immoral way it has and is being conducted.

This is not about about the good cause bacause you condemn 1 man and let 15 go as a result its about a BIG name and who gets to attach their name to it.
If he is guilty, and I personally believe from the history of the Sport itself the likely hood he is - in my opinion- but the Records show he passed every test given and didnt cheat, why should he be treated worse than anyone else for the same offence?

When Sport starts to look like Politics everyone needs to worry as it wont get better as a result it will far worse and thats where its heading with USADA.

Hi Gus,
I don't follow swimming and Phelps that much, I only know he has won about everything 5 times...
It would be nice if he confessed one day.

I just read a piece about Johan Museeuw and his reaction on the latest Lance news. He said in his time everybody took it and so it was fair! And he said he wants all the riders from his era to confess!

Maybe it's time to change my view on sport and accept they all take it so it's fair again for everybody.
And I always thought the sponsors don't want doping but this might be the other way around...

Did Stefan Edberg, Boris Becker, Ivan Lendl, Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras also take it?? Can I cling to the dream they were clean?? Somebody help me out!

TVjunky I wouldnt put too much hope on it. Some atletes may not be serial users but when they are injured and not earning and sponsors want a return the pressure is on to recover quicker and get back in full view of the public with their name.

So it is not always a need to perform but also a recovery tool. It would be interesting to see what test are done on recovering athletes which I believe is few if at all as they are out of active competion rota.

Just so you know Snooker players and Darts players also take their own variation of PED's for consentration and focus mainly beta blocker derivatives.

Sorry to burts your bubble but you may have seen me post elsewhere that 4 athletes were caught at the Olympics and the supervising DR said Sports was so far behind PED designers it was a joke.
