The driver of an "olympic press vehicle" ran over a cyclist, murdering him. Scotland Pigsty has already started the whitewash and coverup.

The message is clear: you're only allowed to watch physical activity, not do any yourself. Cyclists can be targeted with impunity.

1)It did NOT state it was a press vehicle...it was an "accident"
2)prejudicial?
3)Targeted?

Sorry I blew up... still missing the point of why a "Press" bus makes a difference...

I know in the US, on a bike, one takes their life in their own hands... Motorcycles as well albeit they have lights...

Actually surprised we don't hear more (I suppose locally is a different story) as with the influx of people, odds are not in anyone's favor...

One of the problems with Govt is they try to protect everyone from themselves. It's extremely unfortunate, but it was an accident (at this point)... They mention helmets, but one of those wouldn't have made a difference here...

I don't think it's the lights. It's almost always the cyclist or the driver.

Ghost bikes are not uncommon in Albuquerque.

I think it's more to do with it being an olympic press bus. The usual bad driving conditions in London have been made worse by the introduction of 'olympic only' lanes, the closure of some safe cycling routes (which is rather ironic given our suceess in the cycling events) and the general reduction in road space for other vehicles. There is a safe cycle route (closed during the olympics) around the olympic park which the poor cyclist could have used if it was open.

The same is true over here to some extent. I suppose it all depends where you live.
