One has to read the fine print of this latest Greek "offer"

I highlight a passage to make the point.

"The third proposal, he continued, is to convene an international conference when within range of an agreement on the internal aspects of the Cyprus problem. The conference must be convened by the UN with the participation of the five permanent states of the UN Security Council, the EU [PRO GREEK], the three guarantor powers (Greece, Turkey, and UK), the Republic of Cyprus {GREEK] and the two Cypriot communities."

My points are in brackets. In addition, I say:

1) The EU has no role in this process as it supports the Greek side and there are 2 Greek votes/vetoes in this cosy club. The Turks will NEVER accept such a structure for talks.

2)"The Republic of Cyprus" is GREEK

3)No pre-conditions from either side

4)The initial talks should be between the 3 guarantor powers and the GC/TC communities ONLY

5)If ALL agree that the 1960 constitution is dead, then it is dead.

6)if ALL 3 Guarantor powers agree to waive their guarantorship, then that would be fair to all sides

7)If agreement cannot be reached on a way forward by 31st December 2010, the UN should step in and recognise the TRNC

In my view the EU has no credibilty with the Turks beacuse its blatantly pro Greek.

If the Greeks and Turks cannot agree a way forward, partition is the only solution.

36 years of Greek attempts to win this battle through isolating the TC's and attempting to punish Turkey have backfired, as there are now 500,000 settlers in the North and most of the Greek lands in the north have been developed.

Greek stupidity and plain stubbornness have cemented the division.

The UN has achieved NOTHING in 36 years and if the Turks/Greeks cannot agree, there is then no role for the UN in Cyprus.

The international community should recognise the reality of the partition.

Greece and the Greek Republic of Cyprus, and then the Turkish Cypriot and the Greek Cypriot communities. I had heard that the Greeks liked to play with two balls, but in this case they want three!..

Lapithos! ECHR:
1. Greek Cypriots do NOT have right to return North Cyprus
2. Greek Cypriots can take compensation according to 1974-value of the property (1974 value + simple interest), not acc. to 2010 value(1974 value + developmental increase+simple interest).

Apply to NC's IPC till 21.12.2011, take money, give your title deed.

Otherwise, TRNC will expropriate your property WITH NO COST!
And TRNC will thank you VERY VERY VERY MUCH :)

European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) knows UN Charter better than you. And, the decisions that ECHR made:

1. Greek Cypriots do NOT have right to return North Cyprus
2. Greek Cypriots can take compensation according to 1974-value of the property (1974 value + simple interest), not acc. to 2010 value(1974 value + developmental increase+simple interest).

Simply, ECHR penetrated and destructed Greek Cypriots giantly.

Is that the same UN that stood by and did nothing when GC's were killing TC's prior to 1974?

Maybe its the same UN that also allow many countries to do horrible things to its minorities, like

Zimambwe
Sudan
Iran
North Korea
Israels abuse of the Palestinians
Serbian massacres in Bosnia

let alone China, Burma, Russia and

and so on......

The UN is discredited and usless, so Turkey's 40% land grab in Cyprus is nothing compared to many others.

The Greeks have little international support because most sensible countries know the Greeks caused the events that led to invasion.

Depsite that, Cyprus was never a Greek island and Turkey was righ to protect the TC's.

The Greek whinging about Cyprus is laughable.

For the best part of 20 years, they waged a terror campaign to try and convert Cyprus to a Greek island.

When that failed, they then turn about face and act like victims, as though they were just minding their own business and suddenly Turkey invaded!!

The invasion, refugees, all the civilian deaths, the property disputes and everything else are a DIRECT RESULT of Greek actions.

That is why the west have done nothing to attack Turkey since 1974.

The USA, Russia, EU all like the Greeks - yet those 3 power blocks have done nothing - why not????

If anything, even within the EU, Turkey now has better relations with the west than it had in 1974.

The Greeks are good at bullshite and propoganda and not much else.

The UN are tired of the Greeks and it will do nothing on Cyprus.

Do "Ctrl+F" and write "Asproftas" or "Petrakidou" to see that their referral request rejected by ECHR, and the non-returnability decision became FINAL. Even, just look:

http://cmiskp.echr.coe.int/tkp197/view.asp...

to see the "FINAL" indicating that (NOW, IT IS CASE-LAW).

"Asproftas" and "Petrakidou"'s cases resulted in ECHR's CASE-LAW, meaning that in the decisions that will be made in the future regarding the OTHER GREEK CYPRIOT REFUGEES, ECHR will look at the CASE LAW (of Asproftas and Petrakidou) and will produce decisions based on this LAW!

ECHR penetrated a very long D*CK to Greek Cypriots via:
1. NON-RETURNABILITY DECISION
2. COMPENSATION ACCORDING TO 1974-VALUE OF THE PROPERTY

If Greek Cypriots do not like the length of the D*CK, then they can apply to UN and its charter to be penetrated by rather lengthier D*CK!
