Wasim Akram was a very personable guy.

The Pakistani team once won a match in Chennai and the whole stadium gave a standing ovation to him, when the team went around the stadium in a victory lap.

This non partisan crowd behaviour stirred him I guess, and he kept falling to his knees and kissing the grounds.

I am really sorry.

I happen to know the hospital and it is considered one of the best in Asia.I am sorry they could not save her.

How did she happen to be in an Indian hospital? Why did the family not seek treatment in a Pakistani hospital? Pakistani doctors are second to none in the world and our elite must curb this tendency to run abroad when their own family needs treatment.

Then why have only Indians been conveying the condolences? Not a single Pakistani has done it.

Wasit, you tell me why Pakistanis are not conveying their condolences in the numbers they should. Honestly I am at a loss here trying to understand what you are trying to say.

Read some of the posts above. Both Indians and Pakistanis have expressed their condolences.

Personally I don't follow cricket. All my friends who do tell me Wasim Akram is a class act in his sport and he was recently inducted in the Hall of Fame. All lovers of cricket love this man irrespective of their nationality and feel his loss.

All I am trying to convey to you is that this is not an Indo-Pak thing.

LAHORE: Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram's wife Huma, who died in a Chennai hospital two days ago, was reportedly flown out of the country against the advice of doctors treating her in this eastern Pakistani city.

The physicians are of the view that the decision proved fatal as Huma was not in a condition to be allowed by any doctor to travel abroad for treatment.

"A panel of 10 senior doctors of three hospitals in Lahore had advised Wasim Akram not to take her abroad to Singapore in view of her serious health condition," said one of the physicians, who did not wish to be named.

Huma died in a hospital in Chennai on Sunday and was buried here on Monday.

According to Huma's physician at the National Defence Hospital in Lahore, she developed a throat infection and a dry cough after undergoing dental treatment in Karachi in September.

She got herself treated for this but developed an infection in the kidneys in the first week of October.

It was then diagnosed that Huma had developed acute renal failure and her white cell count was increasing.

The other complications developed by Huma, a psychologist by profession, reportedly included severe infection of the kidneys with acute tubular necrosis, vasculitis (inflammation of blood vessels), and pulmonary hypertension (high pressure of blood vessels in lungs).

"She was improving clinically when Akram decided to take her abroad because he and his relatives thought there are better health facilities in Singapore," the physician said.

Akram told the doctors that he was under "immense pressure" from his in-laws to get Huma treated abroad, the physician added.

The air ambulance carrying Huma from Lahore to Singapore had to be diverted to Chennai when her condition worsened and she was rushed to Apollo Hospital.

Munidar Rao of Apollo Hospital told a Pakistani news channel that when Huma was brought to the hospital, she was in septic shock and this led to multiple organ failure.

"I fail to understand as to why she was being shifted to Singapore in such a critical condition," he said.

Javed Akram, Principal of Allama Iqbal Medical College and a professor of medicine, too questioned the move to take Huma abroad as there is no surgery, procedure, doctor or medicine that is available in Singapore and not in Lahore.

"I think unnecessary shifting of Huma from Pakistan in a critical condition caused her death," Javed Akram opined.

Lets explore the "planning" part:

1. The air ambulance carrying Huma from Lahore to Singapore leaves Lahore. RAW agent on board this plane tampers with her medications.

2. Emergency landing in Chennai, India due to her condition worsening. Indian authorities already know of the "plan" that her condition will worsen in flight and the plane will be forced to land in Chennai!

3. As soon as the plane lands in Chennai, Indian doctors, who were alerted earlier by New Delhi carry out their orders which said: "India must even with Pakistan by killing Wasim Akram's wife".

4. Sad ending.

Is that what you are trying to insinuate Wasit? I thought you were somewhat a reasonable person but man you are one sick deranged dude. Get some help.

We all feel saddened by what happened to Huma, Wasim Akram and his family. May God give them the strength through these difficult times and may Allah give you some wisdom Wasit. Allah Hafiz.

Thank you. Her husband seems to be deeply involved in the whole plan. How did a simple dental treatment become so serious? Why was she being taken to Singapur of all places whose doctors are no match to Pakistani doctors? Why were her parents not with her on the flight? Why was her doctor not with her on the flight?

Dear contributors, How could someone be that insensitive rude & ignorant that one man's misery & grief is a topic of your political tantrum. Beside's the question that how could a simple dental procedure could turn fatal? Its an interesting topic, As you may be aware of the fact that oral cavity is home to a lot of bacteria staph in particular, so if a dental work is done which usually involves scrapping bacteria from & between dental area, & you don't take a loading dose of antibiotics which is generally not advised unless you have are a patient with cardiac murmur, the bacteria may either come in bloodstream or go & sit at lymph nodes grow & then show up all of sudden. The symptoms are very general & could not be identified unless an MRI is done. I am very sorry for the loss of Mr. Akram's young companion & mother of his sweet children. & Pray for them to able bear the loss..
