to think they could have had the Marlins their with the 70million. At least the marlins draw average attendances of 10-11 k a game.
What the yankess/redsox games? cause the rest of the time its more like 500-1k. I think they even had a game last year where the attendance was under 75 people. The parks better get there stuff together and lower there prices after that debacle of costs, I'm not sure cricket can afford to come back.

No. However, I think we should hit the county for $250,000,000 for a National Mudwrestling Arena. We can tie it in to a $250,000,000 roller rink for Roller Derby. We'll have plenty of T & A and more than 600 in attendance.

I am thinking of going to the county with a proposal for the biggest and fanciest ping-pong arena. I figure more people play ping-pong than cricket. 140 million sounds resonable, who's with me?

I'm a Cricket player and love the sport. However, I'm not at all in support of getting old farts from other countries who no one wants to watch to play here in the US.

As for the $70M investment, again it may sound tons of money, but if used properly the stadium could generate the money in a short period of time. For that you have to get current international players from leading countries (Australia, England, India, Pakistan) and sell television rights. In India, they just started a new professional league and the TV rights were bought by Sony for $1 BILLION!!!!! So if they market the events properly and bring in the right players, there is potential to recover the money pretty quickly, otherwise it's a waste.

They already have those in Panama City Beach, can't have more than one in the state.

Point 1 - There was more than 600 people there. I do not know where that number came from but it is FALSE.
If people want other sports to play there, why don't they take the time to stop flapping their gums and organize something. They prefer to sit here and type all day on their fat A$$. This group did something not for money but for the public. They spent close to $2 million on this event - not looking for anything in return. Way more than what you guys give for a positive cause. The public had chosen not to come out - but you negative people will see and and eat the crap your typing.
People must remember that THE WHOLE PARK COST $70 million, not the “Cricket Stadium” This is a multipurpose field where more soccer matches and Aussie rule football have played prior to this cricket event. How come nothing was written when in the earlier part of the year 2 Major League Soccer teams played and there was not even 1,000 people – where is that article?
This stadium will be able to bring much needed revenue toward Broward County in regards to the different events that can take place. Where is the article about the revenue generated for hotel bookings and the amount of money the MaqT20 group paid in regards to fees for the county and city?
This sport will take off leaps and bounds in the near future. This kind of negative feedback was given for all sports that are now multibillion dollar revenue generating areas. Cricket is a multibillion dollar sport outside the USA and with people like the MAQ Group doing the positive promotion of the sport; it will soon be at that level in the US.
