This is an easily acceptable statement, if you are marketing? There has recently been some questionable tactics utilized at the city and county governmental levels that have awarded contracts / jobs to a contractor without a competitive bid process???
Before I get off on a rant, let me ask you why another local contractor has been able to outbid your company on a high majority of competitive bids? You have the facilities and the inexpensive manufacturing of your products via Mexico, but still you have continued difficulty being competitive within this bidding process? So to demonstrate your pride in your company it would be more appropriate to allow the employment percentage remaining at high levels or the overflow of substanital finances funneled back into the communities, or any other noble act deemed generous for the betterment of man and community would be a more appropriate and less arrogant means to express yourself. One who is so extremely concerned with the betterment of the world and its people is concentrated too in depth on his goals and achievements to gloat and brag about how good he is, he allows the actions to be the deafening voice of reason. Not to say that your company is or has not contributed to their various communities, they have. It is to be understood that when an entity is established and progresses through success is able to accumulate additional resources and types of services or retail merchandise to a point of what might be considered, and as I know frankly is, the perfect real life monopoly. This situation is not much different than the government stepping in on Bill Gates because they said he was too "powerful" to allow him to continue to build. Yes it is obvious that the chips are stacked against you and other local contractors. The question is what if anything can or will be done? In closing, it is my belief that a companies success will not be measured by the extraordinary amount of financial gain, it will factor in, but by the benefit this employer has on the daily lives of the men and women who work everyday to maintain the professionalism that is required to be a successful entity. The amount of time that elapses before there is no longer employment and they are forced to locate new employment. The medical and other additional benefits that are distibuted to these families. When you discuss the benefit of a company the maor factor is how many people are employed, average amount of time per employee with employer, and the family rep resentation through medical, retirement, and stability. This is a truly awful time for not only CEMEX, but for the entire country as a whole due to rising unemployment statistics. Not sure of the actual number of employees have gotten laid off in the last calendar year, but please do the research and bring the number. It does not even have to be exact, just close. Than feel empowered to sit at your computer and discuss the awesome capabilities and the benefit of the company to the community. |
