Um, sorry, but I will not vote for an extension in sales tax, it is broke, let us fix it now, if not now when? Live within our means. The take home pay for the low to middle class is horrible, so many people living on some type of assistance or another.

"Live within our means". What a concept, huh. I am with you on this one. I have paid more than my fair share to help with this financial crisis. I cannot be of the mindset that we must all contribute to a problem that at least half of us did not create.

The sales tax in Woodland is ridiculous. I go elsewhere to purchase major items. The longer we spend grabbing our ankles, the more you-know-what will take place by our "leaders"

I know California is in trouble, but, why cut those that need the help the most??? That will be crime against humanity. I hope you get to look into the faces of these people as you take their lives away. You make it sound like they just won't be able to buy "grab bars" for the bath! Ask yourself...."what if that was me sitting in that wheel chair, laying in that bed all day, wanting to stay in my own home?" Put yourself in their place and do what is morally right.

This is the standard government trick - make sure that any proposed cuts hurt the most so the public will support increasing sales. Who would vote for increased taxes to preserve the high salaries of all the various political hack commissioners that basically do nothing for over $150,000 each per year? Or to hire a new assistant sub-director of the contractor licensing and review board? But start kicking old folks out into the street and denying health care to poor families and you get people with signs showing up at the capitol (and on the news).

Can someone please explain why blue -collar workers wages have been flat for several years and state and federal taxes havenít gone up butt costs (except for real-estate) of everything else and compensation for the rich are through the roof?

Just like most of us are getting raped by corporate America so is state.

Check out the attached link. It gives another explanation as to why Caulifornia is broke. We are supporting most of the red (repubican) states.

Oh, and as a side -bar, texass who has been saying how screwed up Caulifornia is NOW HAS 25 BILLION DOLLAR DEFICITE! Laughing out loud till I wet my pants.

California spends money like the guy with a good job and can afford a Ford but buys a BMW because, after all, its a lot better car and his credit is good. Eventually he is unable to make the payments but instead of selling the car and buying one he can afford, he thinks, use the credit card for some additional cash. Now after maxing out the credit cards his credit is damaged by too much debt and an impending lack of enough income to pay the bills so just like California he and we are all screwed. The moral is you must stucturally reduce spending without using temporary or inadequate reductions to insure financial stability. California has a spending problem, not an income problem. And please, do not make cuts that will cost the state more than it saves.

So now that someone is actually trying to do something about our problem, the right wing -nuts are whining because the state is going to make people at the local leval pay for what they want.

Example: Do you want your roads fixed or crop subsidies.

Californians this is the result of your vote! Now find out if Jerry has a list of special counties and cities that will not be harmed by this budget cut, I'm almost certain dirty politics will come into play on the decision making process! Will cuts be across the board or based on revenue and population?

Middle of the road must have one of them cush state jobs or unions that got Jerry back for his third time around. If you think hes going to fix this state you need to group yourself as part of the problem, fix it now by cutting all the spending, because we will tough it out, and pray the republicans can save this state

HAHAHAHA! you mean the same republicans who ran this country into the ground? I would prefer to have a bunch of spider monkeys run the country then have any more years with Bush and his cronies. But hey maybe Palin in 2012 will solve all our problems!! Thanks proud repub, I needed a good laugh this morning.

He, proud repub doesn't know how the state is run. The repubicans have governed this state for 31 out of the last 43 years! Three out of four! 75% of the time! And guess who negotiated most of those union contracts during that time?

And I'll bet he's one of those limp-dick puds who wore kneepads and didn't have the balls to fight for a decent wage. Oh wait, maybe he was a boss and that would explain his ignorance and hatred of anyone who had the balls to fight for their rights.

Typical liberal. When you have no facts you resort to foul-mouthed name calling. And this is from the liberal who does not evn have enough pride to call himself a liberal. Are you ashamed, pal?
