About Prosecutor Jim Hagarty's suspicion of DUI arrest - everyone is human and makes mistakes. The outcry to fire (unseat) him is ludicrous in my eyes. We did not elect a 'Perfect Jesus' as prosecutor, we elected a human being that was arrested for a misdemeanor with no previous arrests; certainly deserving of a second chance as any of us would like if in his shoes. On a side note - if he be convicted and ordered to go through a local treatment program, he would be able to see how the local 12 step programs verify everybody & anybodies attendance at their 12 step meetings - whether the person is there or not! The public is not done any service whatsoever with these 12 steps programs acting on such an unethical, immoral & unprofessional manner. These local 12 steps programs and their voluntary signing these verifications slips actually provide nothing less than a dis-service to the local community. 85% of the slips signed by these 12 step groups around town are being signed for people that are not there, only there part of the time and for people not attending - but standing outside smoking. Publically funded treatment should not use outside groups to verify anything for them as well - especially knowing full well of these meetings inaccuracies. The Yakima publically funded treatment centers, sober living, etc are abusing this longstanding loophole and it is unprofessional conduct and wastes taxpayers money. And people wonder why the Governor wants to cut these programs? Maybe if Jim has to experience this himself - something will change within these parties unprofessional practices presently in place - hurting people more than they are helping.
