Laynah was more than just a mother of three. Laynah was a friend to all who knew her. She loved herself and her kids. She was motherly to other children around her including my own. She is not thought of in death as a troubled mother of three. But as a friend, a companion, and a mother who was easy to love. She was honest, outgoing and always did what was best for her children.so when you think of her remember this. Laynah left behind a legacy of three beautiful Children. Damien, Kiara, and Brandon. she will be loved and missed by all who knew her, and will never be forgotten.

My name is Annette, Laynah's x-mother-in-law. For the person who made the first comment:'THANK YOU' I could not have worded it any better. Laynah was a loving daughter, mother, sister, friend etc. She was a wonderful mother, as I saw that for myself.
Laynah will never be forgotten & will always be loved by those who really knew her.
My son, Paul Normand, father of Damien & Kiara will make sure the children remember and love their mother as the wonderful mother she was.

Thank you for your nice posts. I hate the way that the news keeps focusing on the fact that she had a drug problem and that she had a history of mental illness. The world lost a wonderful woman just recently. This tragic loss is something that will never be forgoten. Laynah was a wonderful person, who left behind 3 beautiful smart and loving children. Laynah was the kind of person that would give you the shirt off your back if you needed. She was there when you needed her. I have known Laynah for practically my whole life. She was the best friend I had. And I miss her so much. I will never foget her.

Laynah was my friend briefly several years ago. Its without a doubt a tragedy someone killed her..or anyone for that matter...but what is being done? Who killed Laynah? I also have to say that what does it matter if she was "troubled"..who isn't? Focus on the crime...not wrong-doings by the one done wrong...please..

I went to church with Laynah as a child...I remember her as a free spirit....this is what she wrote in mu bible on 2-4-98....
no matter what you ever do, or who you become throughout your life-remember this always-God is forever today, tomorrow forever. Always remember that, it will save you a whole lot of grief.

I personally did not have the opportunity to meet Laynah, but my oppion is that who are we to judge anyone, wheather we are reporters, policeman or just anybody in general,we all have are mistakes in life and our goals, and me as a mother my goal was to just finish school not to become a mother but now that i am, it takes alot of work, time and love to raise our kids, and unfortantly alot of us find the easy way out of our problems, and then and thier nobody is around to help us out or to judge or even just to say how are you and the kids doing? But like always the minute we do something bad everyone has something to say about us.My point is that no matter what she did she was brought to this world for a purpose and that was to give life to three beautiful kids,my heart goes out to the kids and to the ones that are going to take care of the children, and also to the family for the lost of the sister, daugter, mother, aunt or I should say that wounderful human being that made mistakes just like everyone that is talking about her without really knowing who she was.I lost a love one also and words cant take the pain away,so try and go with the memories she left behind....Sorry about your lost, and be strong for those kids, now they need you the most.....God Bless the family and friends and give you strength for what's to come in the future.

I went to school with Laynah and I grew up with her for several years of my young childhood. Hearing of her passing so many years ago was one of the saddest things I've dealt with. I was thinking of her today so I thought I'd write something. I will always remember her and wish they would find who would do such a horrible thing and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.
