Joe wasn't convicted of murder. Alex was the one convicted of murder. That's why it was left out.

Excuse me, I got the two mixed up. But it looks like Joe is just as much a scumbag as his brother. You claim he's "a true man of God", does forcing ones way into a church and raping the ministers wife make one a "true man of God"?

" Joseph Scesny, 40, is now serving a life sentence in Georgia after he was convicted of rape, sodomy and three aggravated assaults in 1989.

In one case, he reportedly broke into a woman’s home in Fayette County, Ga., put a pillowcase over her head and attempted to rape her. In the most heinous attack, Scesny reportedly forced his way into a church and raped the minister’s wife."

What was done in the past is the past. Can you atone for every past mistake you have made? The point is that it doesn't matter what he did in the past, it is who he is today and today he is a true man of God.

There is a vast difference between making a little mistake that can be disregarded, and raping a person. Rape is a scar that never leaves the victim, so I would propose this...

If the scar left behind by the crime can be erased by the victim, then it should be forgiven...if the scar cannot leave the victim, then it should never be forgiven.

Rapist are proven to NEVER change, and if I had my way, they would get castrated and thrown into a landfill where they belong.

Wow. You start out and sound like the old testament. I almost started feeling a bit religious for a moment. Almost mormon-like or something. Then you flip to your contemporary conservative extremist psycho-babble to get us back into the 21st century. Congratulations!!!!

I say stone him. Crucifying is for the gods among us.

WWJD?

Oh! Forget that... WWACD?(What Would A Conservative Do?) You already said...

Remember, Jesus was a liberal.

I am the real Jilly Sue and to set the record straight a person cannot carry on being fake or use someone and keep up an act for over twelve years … yes I have known Joey for over twelve years. I have read these blogs and they are nothing more than spurious, inflammatory and libellous statements. Joey has been in prison for almost 25 years now and has basically done it on his own. His family turned their backs on him when he went to jail in 1988. A simple $1,000 lawyer could have prevented Joey from being thrown to the legal system wolves. They saw someone they could use and clear their sheets and so they did him wrong. Rather than justice being served, injustice was done. Joey is a good man with integrity and good morals yet, for whatever reason, it appears someone really does not like him or just has something personal against him. Why is it Alex is never mentioned – just Joey - really people get real. You have the temerity to talk about Joey, making false accusations and you do not even know him. As for Joey and murder??? Totally clueless!! You definitely do not know Joey. I do and like I said I have known him for over twelve years. He has always been a good person with a great attitude and positive out look on life and people … as for Joey loving prison life, that’s a total joke … WOW … you definitely do not know Joey at all and you know it. But I guess as you’ve all got so little going on in your own lives that you will come back and say more negative things about Joey. Why? Really … even IF he was guilty, he has served 25 years. Anyone commenting here read the trial transcripts? No! Does one single person commenting here truly know what it must feel like to spend OVER half your life in prison? Exactly! Joey has accomplished nothing but good and positive things while he has been incarcerated. He works incredibly hard with vigour and enthusiasm, preparing for the day he will be released. He loves the Lord with all his heart and it shows through in his character and personality. If any of you had a shred of decency you would stop these fake comments, this negative targeting and hating of Joey. Really now! Do you not think a person would know someone after twelve years of visits, phone calls and correspondence??? No delusion here. I know Joey and you have judged him and just like 25 years ago, you misjudge him and stab him in the back. As far as me using Joey … really …. you just don’t have a clue what we’ve been through. Sad how Joey is portrayed as the black sheep and Alex the saint. Really? What is it you are really mad about? Joey has been away from MA for over 26 years but I guess that’s what comes from living without God and places full of hate. I am here to say that Joey is a really good man and I am blessed to have him in my life … FOR REAL !!!

You are not blessed, you are obsessed and have waisted 12 years of your life on that obsession. Dream on!

"In her book, Women Who Love Men Who Kill, Sheila Isenberg examines the phenomenon of prison lovers and finds genuine and universal bewilderment among the women at their situation. Even if they have had a series of romances with prisoners or, like one British woman, been engaged to several death-row inmates - all of whom were executed - they still claim not to have chosen that course for themselves.
So what other reasons could there be for so many women being attracted to convicted criminals? Isenberg suggests that vicarious murder may sometimes be a motivating factor. It is easier for the lovers of these men to overlook violence if they have considered it themselves: "Even while she denies his culpability, it is his ability to murder that attracts her. He acted on his rage, however unsuitably.[The woman] could never act on her rage. So [his] murder is [her] murder," she says.

It is certainly true that many prison brides have a history of violent relationships. Isenberg draws positive conclusions from this, arguing that an imprisoned partner may be a healthy strategy for women who are attracted to violent men, allowing them to engage without putting themselves in physical danger.

Religious fervour is another, more obvious motivator. Evangelical Christian schemes bring women into contact with prisoners and provide a basis for intense emotional interaction."

I am a beleiver in repentence. It sounds like this man continued to repeat these behaviors which is scary. I pray for his victims as rape is without question planned.

I have been in prison with such men. Many purposefully use the Christian Bible in an attempt to excuse their behavior and the need to really repent and take accountability. I am not saying that this guy hasn't taken accountability asI do not know the cases but there seems like there is more than one which is alarming.

Child molesters are the worst for manipulating the bible in order to avoid taking responsibility for their actions. In a world where their are consenting adults having sex, I do not understand the need to forcibly take sex from other human beings. I have been told that itis the "control" issue which thesemen enjoy and the violence.

There was a case in Concord, new Hampshire where the pedophile cut his penis off and flushed it down the toilet and stated that God told him to do so. I beleive that this man was truly instructed by God and can now begin true repentence.

I especially do not understand the pedophiles mind in terms of a want for children. This is one for brain surgeons to explore in order to find the answers. Brain surgery may be the only cure for this alarming situation.

I do not know the details of this joey person. On its face it sounds like the possibility that he utilized rape as a vengeance tool which is INSANE.They make block busting horror films behind such stories. If there are victims then my heart and prayers go out to them!! I am not familiar which these cases.

His brothers' story I have readin the papers; I do not know these facts neither. I understand that women were murdered in these cases,if he done that then that is just plain HORRIBLY sick and execution should be the remedy.

Prostitute or not prostitute NO WOMAN deserves to be raped nor killed!!!

I hate to break it to you but nobody wants to know Joey except you and from the way it sounds 25 years is not enough. You make the brilliant statement that he hasn't done anything wrong since he's been locked up. I guess they don't want to take the chance of releasing him out into the normal functioning public.

Wow, what has stirred this up after so many years? Joe Scesny is a very sad and scary story. One more complicated than most people realize. A $1,000 would not have helped Joe in the least. He was not thrown to the legal system wolves by his family, he did it to himself. He was a victim in his own life several times over, but that by no means excuses his actions.

Jilly Sue, you say IF he was guilty? He IS guilty, and while he may only have been convicted of only one rape, there were in fact several in MA and GA. If he is telling you otherwise he is not being truthful. Funny how you say Joe is portrayed as the black sheep - I'm quite certain those are his words not yours. He has made you believe that he was the black sheep. He was actually loved and adored by most of his family. They had issues to be sure, but for the most part they were a close group and were devastated by his crimes.

As for people misjudging him and stabbing him in the back 25 years ago. Well, perhaps for some that is true, but for others who knew him perhaps there is a different way to look at it, perhaps it was for their own well being and survival. Remember, you have only a one sided view, the one he chooses to share with you.

It would be nice to think that people could be rehabilitated for such crimes, but does anyone really want to take that chance? It's a scary proposition.

I grew up with the Scesny family, "Joey" has been commiting these crimes since we were kids- breaking into neighborhood houses ejaculating on pillows, attempting rape LONG before any of this came out, I know a lot about his family- two hard working parents- 8 brothers and sisters- one of whome is also serving time for serial murder- how can you possibly say he is a man of God- what a laugh... serial rapist, loser, who deserves to live his life in prison, he ruined many lives of innocent people while taking the lives of others- I know the Scesny family very well, every single one of them, feel bad for the disgrace him and his brother brought on to the rest of their family, feel bad for his victims don't be fooled, face the truth, some people are just evil, I promise this was not a result of his up bringing, unfortunatly the world has evil people in it and it just so happens that 2 of them came from the same family in Small Town, USA

I know Joey and what "Concerned" wrote is totally wrong! He hates prison life. He didn't trick any woman in England, and the priest is not gay! He deserves to be released. He is a true man of God. It amazes me how people can comment on things they really know nothing about. What makes you think the English woman is being deceived and manipulated? Isn't it possible it her who deceived and manipulated him? Let's be real here... we know nothing about the Scesny family, so how can we judge how Alex came to be a serial killer, or how Joe got convicted of rape. Good Lord People, look at yourselves before you start to judge them. As far as you "Concerned", what makes you so much better than Joe? You are falsely accusing him of events you really know nothing about. So tell us what where you incarcerated for so the world can judge you the same you have misjudged Joe!
