All while on the clock for the past six months at the Jail. I have a great idea to reduce the budget - have the workers at the jail perform their own duties instead of making them go out and hold signs for Bove. Don't worry, there are videos. Can you say ethics violation? The state will save money when Bove loses and his pension is taken away for all the corruption that he has been involved in throughout his career.

You want to expand programs and reduce the budget, tell us something that we haven't heard before. if anyone knows how to reduce the budget or get more services with the current budget it would be Foley.

I think the best that could happen to the Worcester House of Corruption is turn it over to the state and have them run it. Why do we need it???? The state wants to shut down alot of our courthouses so let them handle the jail!!! There isn't one person running for this position that should have it especially Bove and Foley they should be committed with the inmates.

Wasn't there a move a while ago for the State to take control of the county prisons? The county prisons are full of people who got their jobs by being friends of politicians.

A neighbor's cousin has a plumb job with the Worcester Sherriff's office, and he has ZERO experience in the law enforcement field. And he has his own car, and other benefits. Like discounts at
certain resturants, and fixing speeding tickets for his friends and family.

Most people don't know this but the jail is operated by the Department of Corrections. The DOC took over the jail back in the late 90's when worcester county government was disolved. The Sheriff is still an elected position because its a law, he runs the jail but he has to abide by DOC rules and regulations. The Sheriff doesn't have the power he once had

If you want to reduce criminal activity in young adults, you don't target teenagers. At this point, the damage is already done and all the diversion programs in the world are unlikely to have an impact on teenagers. The only possible way to break the cycle is to remove young and impressionable babies from their criminal, drug addicted parents who reside in neighborhoods full of the same. I worked for D.Y.S. for 5 years, but it only took me a few months to come to this conclusion. It's sad, but true.

You are right, one problem I have with Bove campaign platform is that he wants to get involved with young adults and juveniles. The jail is strictly for adults and he wants to spend money from a budget that he wants to reduce to help young offenders that Sheriffs Dept has no jurisdiction over. The jail has enough problems dealing with the adult population and all resouces are needed to support the programs there. DYS, Juvenile Court system have the resources and experianced personal to deal with the younger offenders.

Why is it we have carreer politicians trying to use the Sheriffs office for a stepping stone. This office needs experience and not politicians, this needs to change. Taxes are high enough with out these politicians blouting budgets and touting themselves. We the tax payers will have our say on Tuesday when we vote against the double dipper and then in November against carreer politicians. enough is enough.

And Don't forget Bove the ultimate hack! Imagine if you will Bove's goons pushing him around because that's exactly what would happen.

100% agree. My uncle works for the Sheriff, and he has a law enforcement degree and is totally qualified. Don't like it, then apply for a job there, you would not last 1 day.
