I can't wait to see HEB come to our small town! This is exactly what is needed to round out this wonderful community.
Keep HEB out

The people of LaVernia live here because it is quiet and peaceful. We do not want an HEB because it will put our small family businesses out of business. The few jobs it will create will cause more people to become unemployeed. This is just one reason. It will also cause more conjestion in an already dangerous intersection.
Doesn't HEB make enough money already? They are on almost every corner in San Antonio. They are vultures who do not care who they destroy as long as they make money.

I am sooooo very excited that HEB is coming!!!
Praise be to the City Council in working out this great venture. The HEB in Floresville is so terrible, I refuse to shop there ~~~ so the only other options are City Base and Kittyhawk ,,, can you say ~~~> be sure and get tank a of gas for that road trip! And an overnight bag for how long you will stand in line & bump buggies with a couple of thousand of people <~~~
When gas was $4.00 +,,, it was hard to justify living out here,.,, now I feel like I'm in the 20th century instead of living on Little House on the Prairie.
Lets go to Town

Better an HEB move to La Vernia, than say.. Super Wal-Mart? La Vernia is growing, so change and progress are inevitable. Expect to see places like McDonald's move in eventually

So what it happend in floresville and will more than likely happen in any town that is prospering like ours. We have one of the highest graduation rates around. It will also bring better businesses around like cell phone companies and whatnot to eliminate the job losses

The small family business argument has two sides. I will continue to take my business to places that have earned my loyalty, like The Liquor Haus, even though there will be a liquor store next to HEB. On the other hand, I will not be sad to see Baumann's go, as they have taken customers' business for granted for years with inferior products and arrogant kids at the checkout who engage in extended cell-phone and in-person socializing when customers in line are being ignored.
