i wonder if colan called wkyt newsfirst and reported this story so they could interview him and get him on tv again. i would say he let this one slide. there is a good story there about an honest deputy ,who did his job ! maybe someone should get them down here for him. deputy (foley) needs to be complimented for a job well done.

it's good to see there is a police officer out there doing his job. he didn't let the drunks get by with it. good job Foley. the people in the justice system should be setting an example for our teens, not out breaking the law themselfs.and to you jimmy you must be a redneck hillbilly with nothing better to do your on topix. are you one of the sheriffs drunks?

The paper says the guys were doing nothing but walking down the road not causing any disturbance and the police were not called. There only crime is they were walking around 3 am. What would you prefer they do.....drive where they were going? This is so STUPID....SUCH IS LIFE IN JERKWATER, USA! Why don't the police concentrate on real crime and leave people causing no problem except walking...alone!!! What a waste of our tax dollars and ink by our local newspaper's of personal destruction....because there is no real news they want to report! Things like this is why we are the laughing stock of the whole state!!!

I was wondering the same thing. I think more than likely there's more to the story than simply having this group of men out there "just walking along the road" at 3:00 a.m. Something must have been said or implied to the officer which warranted an arrest.

Yet I also agree that there are standards that need to be set when you work for the county. You need to be responsible for your own actions when you hold any county job. I don't know exactly WHY they were arrested, but I'd bet there's a more detailed account than what was reported...

Sometimes these local rags can be worse than Topix gossip. They are one sided and in small rural areas, it's the sensationalism that sells their papers. They are notorious for not fully reporting all of the facts..

It doesn't mean he is a bad person because of this incident, just that he made a bad decision to be out if he was going to be drinking. At least he wasn't driving--that was a good decision. What followed for him to be arrested I don't know, but people in positions of authority need to remember that others are watching them, and be good role models. And, no, it's not hypocritical to drink in private...it just means a person is responsible and realizes that decisions have consequences. Had he been at home, I doubt if he would have done anything to cause his arrest, since it's legal for him to drink.

I hear on the scanner every day some busy body with no life call and report someone walking down the road and they will waste time to run and check then out. they do that in Russia so I guess it's Ok here also. I tickled that he got caught and as a public severnt should have lost his job.

this reminds me of something that i heard some time back, remember the big mess over oscar davenport getting caught drunk and not spending his time in jail. well i heard that the head woman at the jail did the same thing, only she supposedly spent her time in the office, and that the paper work come up missing, i cant remember her name but she is suppose to be the second in charge at the jail. has anyone else heard this?

WHitley county is so pathetic that it thrives on other peoples mistakes to make the news. The boys were walking not driving and causing no harm. Oh yeah it is so crazy everyone is only talking about Harvey not the other two and why Harvey? Oh, I know because he has a job in the county and everyone knows him so lets all trash him. If Harvey had not been with them boys it would have never made the news. People act like if you are employed by the county it is some prestige position that all eyes are on u. Get real...... Get a life.........Get a job........ Live your own life.

I guess the paper was getting boring since they try to at least every month or so find a well known person in the county and trash them. I guess it was just Harvey turn. OMG it might be your turn next week.........Watch yourself.

I agree 100%. Again I repeat..........The paper and the Cop Foley just knows that everyone knows Harvey and they want to drive it in the ground. U see what I am talking about how they are not saying much about the other guys. Not that I think they need anything done to them for walking either. I guess the walking cop is gonna have to start stop and checking all walkers after 12:00 p.m. just think if those poor homeless people he will harrass. lol
