Trish King speaks on drug arrests

There are 3 comments on the The Journal - Colonial Beach/STPNS story from Aug 28, 2008, titled Trish King speaks on drug arrests. In it, The Journal - Colonial Beach/STPNS reports that:

Regarding the article that was written about the drug bust on August 7, in Colonial Beach by the Tri County Task Force. It seems to me that this article is inferring that the Police are the "Bad Guys" because they are doing their jobs. Remember, the police were acting on indictments issued by the "Grand Jury" and the court issued search warrants.

This drug bust hopefully will send a message throughout the communities, that the citizens of Colonial Beach, Westmoreland County and King George County have come together and are saying loud and clear, that drugs are bad and we do not want drug selling, buying or using in our communities and are willing to support the respective police departments to this end.

Trish certainly has it correct. The parents should be interviewed and asked why they put their children in this position. Pass judgment on those who are engaged in criminal behavior.

I WONDER IF SOME OF THESE PARENTS WERE ALREADY INVOLVED WITH SOCIAL SERVICES ABOUT COMPLAINTS IN THE PAST? IF SO, WHY WERE THESE CHILDREN ALOWWED TO LIVE LIKE THIS? IS SOCIAL SERVICES INVOLVED NOW?THEY SHOULD BE! wE AS A TOWN NEED TO MAKE ALL AGENCIES RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR JOBS, NOT JUST THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.

you should check with Fredericksburg and see how many times these parents have been dealt with and
local Social Service agencys. This isn't the 1st time believe me. It should however be the last. Just Another situation that has been on going and they keep slipping through the cracks. Take a situation where a good parent disaplins their child and leaves a mark, social services puts them through Hell, Yet these parents that constantly are reportd for neglect, putting the kids in dangerous situations, leaving the children unattended while living in city motels are found fit and nothing done. What the finger pointing as soon as something does happen. Social Service shame on you, you keep dropping the ball!!!
