I agree with you -Just Asking. CBVA loves to correct spelling. He must have lost a spelling bee contest once upon a time. There are lots of post that have the spelling police after every word. Everyone please stop the correcting of whatever is written. If you cant make out the wrd mabe u nd mo scoling.
It angers me to think someone in here thinks they are more superior because they can type or spell.

Did Mayor Rummage lie In the Journal, or did the Free Lance Star lie about Mayor Rummage statement that he wants the schools consolidated. Now it begins.

I like the idea of making Colonial Beach School a private school system. Make the Parents who want to have a school system in this town really pay for their kids education, maybe you'll start to demand more from the school once you pay for it, and get so little in return.

My gosh - what Rummage said was that he wanted to combine the two superintendent positions. He never said anything about consolidating the school systems.

It won't work, it was tried in the past and failed. The man couldn't please anyone. In this day and age you need a superintendent who is looking out for your schools best interest. Too many rules and regulations apply.

Wow, make it a private school. I think that is a great idea! If everyone is so fanatical about how wonderful the schools are, then yes, let people pay to send their kids there. That would solve the budget problem! as a teacher, it has been my experience that public schools in VA are really about the same...and while I have lived in VA all my life, I have never, ever seen any town-county have the kind of hostility that exists here!

thats because the town has shot itself in the foot more times than can be counted and the residents keep complaing about officials that they continue to elect........county residents are tired of hearing the complaining

In my opionion the hostility between the Town and the County exists because people keep electing candidates who will keep the fight going. They elect soldiers and not statesmen; scrappers rather than doers.
