Take home cars seem like a waste of money maybe. One cop and one car for each 24 hour period seems expensive. They should get out of the car, and pass it on to the next shift. Except for maintenance down time they should run em like they do the taxi cabs.

Police presence is very important but the cost of new cars dont make sense.

Just a thought.

Sometimes just parking old police cars around cuts speeding so maybe this could work.
