I recently moved out of my home at 29 manor circle I turned the keys in on June 12th, I was the first occupant of my home. I realize that I signed a contract with them that I would have my home rent-ready when I moved out so, with the help of my family and freinds, I clenaed the carperts, bleached the floors, cleaned the stove refridgerator, bathrooms, even the track in the sliding glass door. I had offered to meet the manager of the complex to meet me after work to check out the home, and get the keys, I even offered to meet her on a saturday, she had told me she couldnt. I had called a couple of times to get her imput on the home so I could see about my deposit being re-embursed. She finally called me back at work and he immidiate response was "Well, your probably going to cuss me out too." I asked why? And she proceeded to tell me that she was keeping my WHOLE $250. dollar deposit, AND I owed her another $130. dollars, I said WHAT FOR? She then proceeded to tell me the oven was dirty, I said there were a couple of black spots I couldnt get off, In which, I had replaced the burner holders on top at $6 a piece and bought 2 cans of easy off, it was clean under, behind and inside everywehere even the drawer on the bottom, she said she was going to have "to charge me $80 for over all cleaning, and she told me she was charging me $13.71 for her getting the keys on Monday morning on the 13th, after I had offered to meet her, I said no way! And she told me that she was charging me $125 for 5 gallons of paint, I had lived there since April of 2007 and the walls had a really cheap paint that would come off when yuou tried to wash it, PLUS, It hadnt all been painted to start with, THANK GOD I took pictures, Because you could clearly see the blue chalk line and where it hadnt all been painted. I told her I would see her in court!! Because I wasnt paying for that!! I asked her to email me a itomized sheet and she said she would, THEN she talked with her district manager and I got part of my deposit back. In which I knew there were a few things I would have to replace, a cracked door, not busted, cracked. And 2 mini blinds a a plastic rack that went inside the fridge. She said her Manager told her since I had been there for 4 years and followed their procedures, and paint is considered after 4 years, normal wear-and-tear, I could have part of my deposit back. I feel like I should make my ordeal public to others. Its rediculous!! That house was clean! You could even see the shine in the bath rooms! It makes me wonder how many others have been ripped off by their company. Its supposed to be a "government substidy" BUT my rent was $500!! Plus that much or more for my electric bills in the dead of winter, It wasnt a cheap place for "poor" people to live, and if someone was to lose income, the rent was still the same. I think that the public and people considering moving there should take this story into consideration, because I know many others that have been ripped off also. They look nice, but take caution before aplying for a home at Manor at the woodlands!!
