Still don't understand how DA can tell Charlotte Observer a few weeks earlier it is a "winnable case" and then say they are not going to prosecute. Sounds like the victims may want to notify higher ups and see why that decision changed? Just doesn't make sense, does it?

Actually, he said that the first case was an "unwinnable case" and that the second case was a "prosecutable case".

I see where the later article says "winnable case". But in the article from a few weeks prior, it uses the words "unwinnable" and "prosecuteable". It looks to me as if the Observer either mixed up winnable and unwinnable, or misinterpreted the term "prosecutable" as winnable. Whichever the case, the Observer twisted the DA's statement.
