Watauga to allow windmills
#1 Aug 11, 2006
We lived near windmills set in the upstate New York farmland. The small amount of land was leased from the farmers, who were still able to use most of the field. They were quiet. They were fascinating to see turning in the wind and did not obstruct views any more than cell towers or mega-mansions currently being constructed. Local government should, of course, be involved in their regulation, but consider the low-cost, clean energy they will produce in an enviromentaly sensitive area.
