PLAIN AND SIMPLE:

IF YOU BUILD ON A STEEP SLOPE AND IT FALLS YOU SHOULD BE FORCED TO CLEAN UP YOUR MESS.

I STAND TO BE CORRECTED.

How many homes in Peek's Creek were built on a steep slope. None, it was a debris flow that started well above the residences. Emotion without science should not shape how or if we should develope our slopes. Your letter was not based on science. Stephan for the most part got it right with the exception of collivial siols. The are by nature weak because they have slid in the past and form a plain of weakness at the interface with residual siols.

Cjohnny, I live on a steep slope. When something happens up here, WE DO CLEAN IT UP....you really have no choice as it is generally blocking entering/exiting the premises.
