The voters of the Town of Boone have gotten the council members and the mayor that they wanted. It's a pity that we all will now have to suffer from their unrelenting stupidity. There will be a mayoral election this fall. I pray that someone who has some knowledge about how to run a government entity will join the race. I've heard that the only choice so far will be between Andy Ball and Lynn Mason. Lynn Mason is at the head of this fiasco(as well as many others)and Andy Ball doesn't have the policital acumen to direct the current council in a positive direction.

Lynn Mason needs to go, and thank God Loretta is finished. Jamie Leigh too. What a blunder that trio have been for the town. Completely self serving, and if there were a trio of more self aggrandized political/power hungry people on earth I would like to know who they are. Biggest political failures in the history of boone town council members, and this can hardly be debated.

At least Andys heart is in the right place. He is young but a very sharp man. Agreed he will have some On Job Training to do, but I'd have to say he has proven himself in the past few years to be the bearer of the Town Councils common sense flag.

Plus, I dont think he is in Pams pocket either.

Maybe Pam will speak up, but I doubt it. She so much more prefers to operate in the shadows.

Wake up Boone Citizens. Our Town Council are predominately liberal idealists who would rather "kick the can down the road" rather than deal with the real problems facing our populace.

Out with Lynn Mason and Jamie Leigh in my opinion would be a good start,,,,,,,along with anyone found to be in Pam's pocket.

Here's the deal...the Town of Boone, as the largest town in Watauga County, has long dictated policy for all residents of Watauga. Now that we have a County Commission with backbone, the TOB has decided to whine, demagogue Commissioner Miller (a good man) and stomp their feet when things don't go their way. We can hide our heads in the sand and avoid the realities of growth, like the TOB is inclined to do, and suffer the consequences of being a place that people visit or come for school and then leave. Or, we can work together and try to forge a policy that serves all of Watauga County's residents and not just those in the Town of Boone or ETJ.
Our county commissioners need to stand strong on the issue of the sales tax distribution and the voters of Boone need to keep in mind that without us county-folk, their riches wouldn't be nearly what they are.

You have a town council who is mostly elected by the students at ASU! ASU students are not likely to support a Republican so the Dems that control the town know they can do whatever they want and the year around residents can't do anything about it.

Allocating sales taxes based on population would be a lot more fair if the students were counted the same as the other part time residents. Dems claim that Beech Mtn only has a population of around 300....that's the WINTER time population. If you counted the population in July it would be closer to 20,000!

It's time for the permanent Boone residents to start paying attention to what there council is doing~!

Yes, and "everyone there" can kiss my arse.

How about you talk specifics mr. everyone, and lets find out exactly what you bring to the table, or are you simply one of the mule headed a%^ holes you speak of?

Have you anything at all to add to the conversation, save some vague innuendos? I would be glad to talk it over with you on "every level".
