Convicted felon arrested after pawning firearm in Boone, police say
On September 30, 2013, Boone Police discovered that a convicted felon, Ryan Dean Walsh, 37 years-of-age, of Mountain City, TN had pawned a firearm to a local pawn shop.

I'm aware that there is a law against felons possessing firearms. My point is that he had a firearm, and didn't use it to commit a crime.

A retro active law,if he was convicted and completed all punishment before 1996,he should be acquitted. Meanwhile child molester in Watauga gets 3 years for 2 kids.

It's one of the most unconstitutional laws out there. Especially since there are a lot of petty felonies. The felon firearm law doesn't jive with most felonies.
