This Christian is sick of being lumped in with the likes of Glenn. "For our children's sake" What hyprocrisy! As if GLBT teens don't have matter. What about their well being, Glenn? You make us all sick with your hypocrisy. It's all about what a terrific way to mobilize the red-necked no-nothings who think get their own prejudice mixed up with the Word of God. Shame on you. Your kind lost on interracial marriages 50 years ago, and you are gonna lose on this. It's a matter of time before enough Americans see Glenn and his group for what they are: Un-Christian bigots mascarading in faux-Christian sheep skins.

Innocent Bystander: Do you think those numbers won't move? Oh, and do ya think the majority always get it right? Have you heard of the tyranny of the majority that gravely concerned our Founding Fathers? Have you considered that the polling numbers on interracial marriage have moved considerably over the last several decades. So, I hope you have a response that doesn't include standing against interracial marriage, because that would make you look, uh, well, you know, kinda, like a BIGOT.

Actually, the people of Michigan spoke for themselves when they voted it down 59-41. Nice try, though - keep dreaming.

There was a time in our not to distant past that these same bigoted people who oppose same sex marriage, opposed marriages between whites and blacks. Luckily we progress forward and those bigoted ideas are in the past. Soon THEY will be in the past and so will discrimination against gays. Equality for ALL!

"Marriage" is between a man and a woman and "owning" a home is having no more payments!!!!!

What's wrong with two people loving each other? Isn't that what we should see more of? The way I see it, people are fearful of what they do not know. So instead of looking at their own fear, they turn it outward into hatred, anger, and all sorts of negative and ignorant emotions and actions.

Carrie Prejean (the dumb ass pageant bimbo bigot who spewed her hatred of homosexuals in the Miss America Contest then got fired rightfully for not upholding her duties under her contract) clearly represents those who oppose equality for all! These are the same people who still think blacks should be slaves! C'mon people WAKE UP! This is 2009, STOP hating and judging OTHERS and take care of your OWN marriage!

Haven't you read ANY of the response's above? The people of Michigan didn't really speak their mind but rather I'm seriously willing to bet that they voted the way they did because they thought it was in the best interest of the church and what "God" would want. Another "respond(ee)" from above said that "one man and one woman" for marriage is really just an extended definition of marriage. You need to learn to read i do think.

Do you really think your going to live that full life if you do what you THINK God wants you to do? I mean seriously? Does God come down every night and say you shall do the following things the next day? No. I think he wants everyone to be their own person and be who he made everyone to be whether it be black or white, gay or straight and so forth. Would "God" really make a black person just so people can hate cause they're different from white? NO. I do believe that God said that "ALL men are created equal". So if black people are created equal to white people and both parties get the same rights, why can't gay people be equal to straight people and also get the same rights? Women once didn't have the same rights as men, but now they do, and it that can clearly be seen if you think about. Example would be that Hillary Clinton ran for President which about 50ish years ago would have not been allowed or even thought of. She didn't win, but she sure did try.

If America is seriously suppose to be the "land of the free", then what do you call telling one minority that they can't do the same thing as a majority can do. In this reference, i am referring to marriage of course. Think about it...

Your mean for the children of HETEROSEXUAL parent's sake. As a child of gay parents, it PAINS me to see the blatant bigotry and HATE coming from those "supposed" protectors of children. Where is the continued outrage about molestic priests? Where is the outrage for the thousands upon thousands of children being raised by the government and NOT a family?? WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE THAT OUT COUNTRY NO LONGER PROTECTS ALL AND OUT EQUAL PROTECTION IS A PIECE OF WORTHLESS ****. You people again gay marriage are horrible, closeted prejudiced hate mongers who tuck their tails between their legs and blame religion as justification. STOP BLAMAING RELIGION FOR HATE. YOU AND YOU ALONE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS/OPINIONS.

Well said.=)

'To keep our children safe'? Right. More like,'to stifle our children like we're stifling the rest of our nation.' There are going to be gay children. What are they going to do about that?
Maybe 'marriage' is only between a man and a woman, but to 'wed' a couple has absolutely nothing to do with gender. Why can't we let gays 'wed', at least?
