Cherokee National Forest to get further protection
WASHINGTON -- A total of 19,556 acres in the Cherokee National Forest in eastern Tennessee would be designated as wilderness under legislation introduced Wednesday by Sens.

This is great news for the Cherokee National Forest. Now if we can just keep Corridor K from breaching the this National Forest it will remain the pristine forest it was meant to be.

why do we need more wilderness???? We are already told how we can use the land when we can us the land our tax dollars pay for the land it should be put to a vote. We need to look at the destruction of the land just across the state line in NC. the gov. has stopped the jeep riding but instead of leaving the roads for hikers,hunters,horseback riders they are wasting taxpayer dollars digging the roads up and cutting trees across them. Why could these areas not be used for something???
