I love reading the Observer-Reporter even though I live in Allegheny County. This Paper truthfully informs everyone by printing the names and addresses of all the drug addicts, drug dealers, and criminals. So the community is aware if they live near them. Why does'nt the PG do the same. I am going to cancel the PG. Because I prefer to read the O/R paper on line

Grandma the valley independent is the same way. They only report what is safe.So they don t step on too many toes.I can tell you from personal experience years ago there was something that happend and they wanted to do a story about a tragedy but when i would not go with the spin the jerks wanted to put on it.They dropped the story like a hot potatoe.

Happy Grandma, you would seriously cancel your subscription the PG just because the O/R reports where drug addicts live? Before you do such a thing, you should consider the following; newspapers are filled with only partial information, newspapers tend to lack adequate sources of information, newspapers deliver their own personal bias's to each and every story that is told, newspapers typically focus on only the negatives (meaning they won't put the positive information in that could make a bad person not look so bad if the entire story was told), and newspapers tend to strongly focus their information - that they distribute to all of us - from assumptions, allegations, or other ways that one could say "this possibly happened". So, before you decide whether or not you should cancel the PG and order the O/R, maybe you should consider whether or not you should cancel the ordering of any newspaper. The reason that I say this derives from the fact that any one person can find more valid information that has multiple facts and sources of where the facts actually came from on the web. The best part is that you can save money by using the web - what can be found in a one day period on the web is approximately 3 months worth of newspaper junk; equivalently speaking - while, at the same time, become smarter than the students in your local elementary center. In a nutshell, don't waste your money on the mere garbage that the newspapers speak; become an educated person by learning to find the information out to your on liking (meaning either stop learning about a subject until either you completely understand it or until you have enough of an understanding of the topic at hand that you can recite it in your sleep, while drunk). By the way, the Valley sucks!!! The writers either leave out words, stop in the middle of their stories, or just plain-ol' bore a person to death. Seriously consider checking online sources for adequate information. Maybe, if at all, use the newspaper to potty train your animals, clean up a spill, or to pick out topics that you can take into your own hands and research yourself.

We need a Monongahela publication. With technology today and the ability to outsource printing it is definitely doable.

Listen up "are you serious" I saide the O-R names all criminals including drunks, and drug addicts, and even reports the cases that go before the Courts every day and the results of the disposition of each case. That is a genuine public service that the O-R provides for all citizens in Washington County, and thats how it should be. All newspapers should be the voice of the citizenry. You are right that most papers have their own Agenda mostly for political bias. Besides I did mention that I had found the O-R on the Internet, and thats how I get my daiy dose of information. I have two elderly in-laws who live in Washington County, and I am concerned for their safety thats my main reason for reading the O-R. Have a nice day.
