Well that would certainly violate their freedom of speech. If lobbyist (as a corporation) can pay congressional reps and senators millions of dollars to sway a vote why can't they wear T-Shirts? Hey this is what the Supreme Court decided so too bad.

In 2004, the elections officials took my Newsweek magazine as I waited in line to vote (2 hrs). It had photos and stories of the presidential candidates in it, and the brain-impaired elections official thought it might unduly influence someone. DON'T LET PEOPLE READ! IT MIGHT CAUSE THEM TO VOTE FOR SOMEONE FOR A GOOD REASON! We don't have good enough procedures in place to stop that kind of thing.

I wonder why they will not make the voters wear the ponchos. Oh I know,it would be an infringement on freedom of speech and one can bet good money that I'm a pure loudmouth when it comes to freedom of speech.

People don't understand that a school levy is not a partisan political contest. It is simply a decision. We have a system for funding school in this country based on local control. People vote for how much money they want to tax themselves to support public schools. That's it. There is nothing bad, illegal, immoral or anything else about school levies. They are simply the mechanism we have. If people want to change the mechanism or even stop funding public schools, they need to use the system we have and work through it, rather than bad mouthing schools, teachers, public officials and everyone else who is simply doing their job within what the law requires. Did anybody go to civics class and pay attention?

I was thinking of how they were going to sanitize each one? Think about: colds, head lice and scabies... just to name a few. No way would I ever wear one.

Why is it schools never have enough? Now matter how many levies they get, they always want more. Seems like it is time for the schools to learn to live on a budget like the rest of us do!

I'm sure most people have their minds made up before they reach the poles...especially for school levies, which get an automatic "no" vote in my town.
