PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
CARLISLE BAND TO PERFORM AT CINCO DE MAYO FIESTA IN CHAMBERSBURG
The Chambersburg Hispanic American Center invites the public to a
free Cinco de Mayo concert of "Latin Rhythms" by the Carlisle Band,
Sunday, May 4 at the Kiwanas Bandshell in Memorial Park,
Chambersburg. The encore performance begins at 2 p.m.

the Eighth Regimental National Guard Band. These brave musicians
soon became the Army's 104th Calvary Band on active duty, and this

During the Mexican Revolution, the Carlisle Band was sent to the
Mexican border (1916) to join General Pershing and the 28th
Infantry Division in their futile search for Pancho Villa. For
exemplary military service, the 104th Calvary Band was declared
"The Governor's Own" in 1922, and the following year, the 104th
Calvary Band was discharged and reverted back to the Carlisle Town Band.
The Kiwanas Bandshell is located near the corner of Stouffer and
Stanley Avenues, Chambersburg. Lawn chairs are recommended for the
