Will someone PLEASE give this reporter some lessons in the English language? Show him a dictionary and make him look up the verb phrase "crack down" - it means "to take severe or stern measures, esp. in enforcing obedience to laws or regulations, as in "The police are starting to crack down on local drug dealers". Writing that the county might "crack down on non-profits" implies that the non-profits have done something wrong, which is not the case. Since I assume the "reporter" has no reason to impugn local non-profits, the more likely explanation is that he did it from ignorance. And the "editor" didn't catch it. Nothing new there.

I extremely curious when I read the headline, and stunned when I read the article. Wow.

Don't blame the reporter in this case, they generally don't headline their stories, editors usually do that. I'm more embarassed for them than usual.

I know _ I almost did not want to mention the others because it just seems like they must be pulling our legs!! HOW could a newspaper - even a high school newspaper - print such headlines???? Either they have a very sick employee who is into scatological humor, or else the headline writer is simply as incompetent and the other writers.

UH..what would someone like you be doing talking to a realtor, anyhow? JRR doesn't do much HUD housing. Might I suggest looking at renting a place in Aspen Villas with Park City's other "Most Wanted?"
