Ronnie Robertson is convinced he was beaten at a Warren County bar last month simply because he admitted, "Yes, I'm gay." But under Ohio law, the attack cannot be considered a hate crime that would carry a longer jail term than a run-of-the-mill bar brawl, said Robert Peeler, prosecutor for Mason Municipal Court, where the cases are pending against ...

And where is the list of politicians that support hate crimes laws and those that vote against them?

So says the homophobe.

You'd be saying things differently if people were going to attack you simply because your name is "Steve".

Homophobe. Any time someone disagrees with a gay person, they automatically are called Homophobe. Its getting to be a cliche. Give it a rest. It just shows your lack of ability to make your point in the argument. Ho Hum Boring.

Nobody should be attacked for any reason. Hate crime laws are prejudicial for sure. Why should the penalties be different because someone is gay, black, asian, white or whatever.

People that do any violence should be locked up regardless. I doubt if the hate crime laws have really stopped any violence against minorities. People that do these crimes probably could care less.

When the attacker's sole intention was to inflict violence and damage upon the victim then there's a huge need for hate crimes.

You can disregard the label 'homophobe' all you want - I'm sure it fits you like a "t". It hardly shows any lack of understanding to call someone a 'homophobe', in fact you dismissing it so callously only shows the label probably fits all too well. When you think the LGBT community isn't as "good" or as "normal" as yourself then, yes, you're a homophobe.

Hardly. When you hate a jew, a gay or lesbian or a black person then yes, you are indeed anti-Semetic, a homophobe or a racist.

What? You feeling the walls of your trailer park closing in on you? What a f'n shame.
