Dean Schumacher the victim, was my cousin and he is gone now because of some border jumping bastard who has no respect for his own life let along anyone else's! I hope they throw the book at him and send him back to where he came from so his own country can pay taxes feed and clothe him until his released to kill another innocent person. Dean was one of the best people I know and didn't deserve to die at age 41 on his way to work.

Okay Tina, regardless of where he's from, whatever this boy was doing at 4 am is no ones business but his. Information about whether his parents knew or didn't know if he was out was never released and they shouldnt be accused for their son's actions. How do you know that this boy was not from a broken down home? If he ever recived love from his parents as a child? Its obvious that he hasnt been respecting himself, but instead of judging, help should be given to him. Oh, and you have no right calling someone a piece of crap, especially someone you dont even know!

Let me see.. I really don't care weather or not this illegal piece of crap got enough hugs and kisses as a child!!! He was out at 4 am and KILLED an innocent person!!!! The fact that he was carrying a concealed weapon, had possesion of an illegal substance and was driving a vehicle with STOLEN plates along with hospitalizing 3 other people tells me he has lost any rights at all. So tell me what do you think should happen to this piece of CRAP??? Should we give him food stamps, some government housing and maybe some government cheese too??? Maybe we should just have a long talk with him and tell him he made a mistake and ground him him for a week... Yeah that sounds like a good idea. Who said anything about race? I don't care if you are white, brown, or any other color under the rainbow if you are here illegally you should be sent back. It becomes our business what he was doing at 4am when he kills an innocent man! Being from a broken home is no excuse for killing someone. You don't have to know someone to judge them. People are judged on their actions. He killed someone by his actions, therfore she is correct in judging him as piece of crap.

The man who died used to make me breakfast almost daily, when he worked at a little sandwich shop. He made the best biscuits and gravy I've ever tasted. I spent a lot of time chit chatting with him, and he really seemed to be a genuinely good person. I didn't know him at a very personal level, but I was very sad when I heard about this incident.
While I do agree that people shouldn't be judged on their race, or that all illegal immigrants are inherently evil, I am outraged at this 17 y/o's actions. He wiped a great person off of this earth. I don't care if it was bad weather, or if he had a bad home life, he killed someone. Driving is dangerous, and if you're not willing to be alert, then you shouldn't be on the road. Really? This kid needs our help? Really? Dean's family deserves our help and sympathy. I hope this kid does feel some remorse, and like a peice of "crap." There's really not any excuses for this. Do you pity a drunk driver who kills? At 17, running around with a concealed weapon, in the middle of the night, driving to california? Help is not what's needed. Tough love? I don't have the answers, but, with the above considered, I don't think a little bit of counseling or government freebies would do the kid any good. When someone dies at your hand, you deserve to be punished, end of story.

It's really quite simple. We have immigration laws for a reason. It's not about judging a race, it's about judging the ever growing # of illegals in this country.

They should be shipped back across the border & then forced to serve as slave labor for a period of time if they are caught back in the US. Maybe that would be a deterrent-nothing else seems to be.
