Using a Corvette is pretty cool as long as the Deputy is competent at 198 mph (been to NASCAR Driving School?) but seizing it from a drug dealer is wrong, wrong, wrong because it allows law enforcemtnt officers to collect 'toys' much like the Sheriff of Nottingham's Deputies with the same inevitable push-back from the citizens.

Yeah, I guess a 'stang or LTD can't go fast enough for us moonshiners these days... WTF

Police use AND confiscation of items IS BLATANTLY a conflict of interest...

If items are to be confiscated by law, certainly they should be auctioned and the monies used ANYWHERE but in Law Enforcement.

The only thing they did wrong is telling everyone. Who would ever expect to see a Deputy roll up in a Z06? If that car helps them take drugs off of the street, more power to them.

This goes against the grain of telling people to be cautious of police impersonators, roadside high-jacking, etc. Would YOU stop for a Corvette with a flashing blue light? It's never a good idea if it's not a marked car. Just keep driving and ignore the Corvette. If it's the real deal a marked car will eventually join in the stop and you can feel safe. Sort of. You may have to endure the typical roughing up and getting your face slammed onto your hood (as seen on TV) by a then anxiety ridden deputy. And how many cars have gotten away from a deputy or trooper or city cop? Mix in a helicopter and no one gets away for Pete's sake. They DON'T NEED a Corvette to get the job done!! And just because the Corvette can keep up with anything doesn't make it any safer, and doesn't end the chase any quicker. And if the 'suspect', the 15mph over criminal 'speeder' happens to have a donut ejector, well the chase will be over anyway!
