Uh-oh. North Carolina. I expect Marksman will be writing another letter to the newspaper bitching about the Wake County School System.

“Evolution is certainly something that students can be taught,” said Capps, who is running for a state House seat this year.“But it’s not the only theory. Students should also have the right to learn about creationism. Where’s their academic freedom?”

"only a theory". Sheesh.

“We follow the standard curriculum, which focuses on evolution,” said Wakefield Middle Principal Jimmy Sposato in a written statement.“In this case, I talked with the teacher and reminded him to only give assignments aligned with the core curriculum moving forward.”

You tell 'em, Jimmy!

Considering this guy not only violated school policy, but put kid's education at risk and violated the First Amendment he got off a bit light didn't he?

So they told him to stop teaching fundie BS. Great. Now they should slap him silly with a wet fishphibian and tell him AGAIN to stop teaching fundie BS, or he'll be put on notice.

The Wake County School Board is a mess. It is not focused on the schools but on who can gain the most political power.

Remind us why religion has no place in a scientific curriculum. Careful, as you might accidentally make your God unable to exist.
