With all due respect to the media outlets, start doing a better job of investigating what you report. The project may be completed, but it is a boondoggle. Thompson Ditch was never the problem in either flood. The problem was with "The Great Wall" in place, the flood waters that came from the south didn't have an natural flow outlet. The problem was and still is a log jammed Honey Creek at Allendale, the 41 bridge and the 63 bridge. Contact the media and ask them if they talked to any residents in the area. Ask the media what studies were done before Cobblestone, the development along the north side of Honey Creek by Wyndmore and Toyota. These were natural overflow basins that now are filled in with concrete. Why didn't the media care about the construction vehicles driving on the north levee of Honey Creek right before the flood?
