I hope this kid gets strapped into an FN electric chair. Not guilty? I bet there were about twenty witnesses who would say otherwise.

As awful as this is, I bet he gets sentenced to juvie hall until he's 21 years old, and then released.

I'll bet McInerney is not as depraved as the poster above.

I think it's best to not answer or address people who post nonsense like that. Just ignore them.

Let them answer to God when the time comes.

I see nothing amusing about a 15-year-old probably heading to prison for the rest of his life under any circumstances.

There is at least as good a chance he'll be dead by that age.

The killer is 14 years old, just a boy.

What kind of life did he have, and parenting did he have, that created that in him?

Just a horrible and wasteful tragedy all around.

Many states have laws that say you cannot hold a person past his 21st birthday, even if convicted of murder. I don't know what the law in his state is.

Ok. My mistake. I looked it up. The minimum that McInerney can get if convicted of murder is basically a life sentence.

A sad waste all around.

Maybe he can make something of his life in prison helping others. I don't know.

Surprisingly I have mixed feelings, that I didn't have before, about sending someone so young to prison for life.

I'm not as sure about that as I used to be.

I can see both sides of the issue, and I really can't say anymore if giving someone like this a life sentences is correct or not.

I just don't know.

On the other hand, he has proven he can kill. And if he were ever let out, and killed again, then what would people say ?

I guess I come down on this with life in prison for him. You have to protect other people from criminals who have proven that they will murder.

I remember the "Summer Of Sam in '77", and how close to home it was.

By all accounts David Berkowitx became a born-again Christian, and is a model prisoner doing good things for others in the prison.
One COULD say he has been "rehabilitated" and should be set free because incarcerating him achieved the desired goal.
But nobody, including myself, has suggested that David Berkowitz be freed, even if we DO believe he has become a good person and would not kill again.

What is often unspoken, and despite many people's denials to the contrary, society MUST have it's vengence.

A bit off-topic but if this kid had been armed with a knife instead of a gun the victim might have been able to fight him off or at possibly survive a stabbing.

The US will never lose its fondness for guns!

Yes, you are off-topic. But since you bring it up, you might enjoy this legislative request, which could become a bill in New Hampshire's 2012 legislative session:

On this day we celebrate of Independence, I would remind you that owning a gun is one of our most cherished RIGHTS, and a Right that ALL law-abiding citizens have.

Without guns, our Revolution, which we celebrate this day, would not have been possible.

And for most of the men and women (yes, women !) who fought in the Revolutionary War, it was THEIR responsibilty to supply their OWN guns, and their OWN ammunition.

Since motor vehicles kill far more people than guns do, we could certainly save more lives by banning motor vehicles than by banning guns. And we have certainly proven that we can live WITHOUT motor vehicles.(The Amish people who live by me demonstrate that each day). So why don't we ban them first ?

Or would that inconvenience you ?

Looked at the selections in the "judge it" section so that I could leave a few for "Mr Mayor". Unfortunately, none of the options were worthy of him as there was no "douche bag" box to check.....hmm, pity
