Quinn is not being censored. He is not allowed to write in the towns newsletter, because he wrote negativly of the town. A Mayor is supposed to promote his town, and the Town's views. Privately he can write anything he likes in the newspapers which he does frequently. Why is it that 4 of the Town Council representatives and the Town's staff are against him. Are they all in the wrong and Quinn is right? I think not. Schallenkamp and Howe supported him in his election campaign, now they have turned on him, why?

If the Town Council keeps gagging him and flinging accusations then no one will ever know why they turned on him. Open debate would be helpful to hold all of them accountable.

I can assure you as a memeber of Indian Trail, NC community that Quinn is JERK! I have had problems with the man prior to him being the mayor and many others. He is an arrogant person and values nobody. He should be booted for his actions and mouth!

If he is a joke then vote him out in the next election. But in the meantime, honor the principles of the democratic system of government. He was elected by the people. If the people screwed up then they live with the consequences until the next election. If they didn't screw up then they can vote out the ones who are gagging him. Either way.... shouldn't the the town decide rather than 4 politicians? Isn't that why we have elections?

You're right - we do have to live with the ones that won the elections. Those of us that didn't vote for the ones that are now embarrassing the town....well, it just makes it harder to watch. Hundreds of us knew this would happen, but hundreds more were served the kool-aid and drank deeply. Hearing from the more vocal ones, they are disappointed they supported him. But we are bound by 4 yr terms. Sad

Perhaps this drama will encourage more people to vote in the municipal elections.

Isn't it sad that this 'Mayor' was elected with less than 40% of the vote. In fact, I think it was less than 35%. Clearly, the majority voted AGAINST Mayor Quinn.

It's sad in a town of almost 30,000 this guy squeaked in by 30 votes.

Wow... some people just don't get the fact that you only get a voice if you choose to vote.

Clearly the majority voted in FAVOR of Quinn. Duh... that's why he is Mayor.

That's how democracy works folks --- "imaginary sit at home on your couch votes" just don't get get counted.

What is clear is that a 'majority' didn't care and let others decide for them. Can't really complain after the fact.

While you are right that the apathy is disheartening. In the election of Mayor Quinn the majority of voters did not vote for him. The majority voted for the two other candidates. He had the highest vote count not the majority of the vote. Go figure !

Well, then lets just kick him out! How can someone serve when they were not elected by the overall majority? Oh wait, that happens all the time.

He won, get over it! You will have your chance to run for Mayor in 2011.

Anyone following the latest email scandal involving Mayor Quinn? He has refused to answer a public records request for emails.
Seems a little suspicious to me. Wonder what he has to hide ?

Don't bother asking him, you won't get a straight answer.
