This time it's Marshville in eastern Union County. Manager Amanda Reid tendered her resignation this month, effective March 31. I am sorry you feel this way about such a well educated and professional woman. You really have not given her a chance to get to know you, or you to know her. She is not as you people describe her. She is highly intelligent, a Masters Degree, which I am sure no one else in Marshville has, and most cant even spell Masters Degree. You finally get a manager that can control things in town, get the town running forward, making money, and you want to run her off. She has been a savior for the town, you would have ended up flat broke without her fixing things and increasing the revenues. A bunch of idiots.
you may be right I am 75 yr old and not to smart but I know when someone lies then they are not a good person. If they will lie about little things to get their way then she will lie about big things to get her way to. I have been around marshville 75 yrs and this town is not broke. Their is 4differ banks in marshville and 0 banks in wingate. Yes you may be right about very few people having a masters degree but I will bet you some of us 8 grad drop out so we could work on the fame has more money then she does. And we did not have to lie to get it. So please do not talk down to the people of marshville if you do not know us.

I didnt say anything about "uneducated" people in your town, I said probably no one with a Masters Degree. Do you even know what a masters degree is? Alot of years at AppState and alot of hard work to pay for a good education. BTW I am republican, and dont like fried chicken. Opposite of most of your Marshville.
You are so wrong about the people in Marshville. There are quite a few with Master's degrees...myself included. Getting a Master's degree requires TIME much more than IQ. Nothing against AppState..its a fine school, but it not like she graduated from an Ivy League university. So you can stop turning up your nose at the people of Marshville. It's citizens are not all unemployed and uneducated. Politicians and town managers are a dime a dozen.

Sorry folks, I mean ole Marchef has some valid points. Marshville is not known for its educated people, as many as there are here. I can think of only a few with college experience myself. And please dont defend the unemployed of marshville, as we know they really dont want to work anyway. NoBS is correct, politicians and town managers are a dime a dozen, but so arent unemployed and uneducated drug dealers and thieves a dime a dozen in marshville as well.

I agree with Marshville Knight, one of the hardest things to find is an educated drug dealer. I cant stand someone that can't calculate weight times market value.

Duh, guess they will allow her to pilfer the town and leave us broke and embarrassed for one more month. Who in their right mind would allow her to stay any longer, the last 30 days is her time to enact her revenge. They need to awaken and act, permit her an early release and appoint an interim manager that is on board with the direction of the new council, perhaps a current staff member. They have 4 or 5 staff members that have been employed here for over 10 years and could fill her shoes easily. Thats how Carl was the administrator, began as a cop and was promoted, he did a good job then and now came back as topcop, why not look in-house again? Maybe a gem to be uncovered. Someone to do as the job desription says, work at the direction of the council, and "work for the people".
