I have had it up to here with our new Gov. She is as bad as Easley (who belongs in jail). She violated the sacred cow by taking 88 million from the NC Education Lottery. We voters were told when the lottery passed in NC that money raised by the NC EDUCATION LOTTERY would be EXCLUSIVELY used for our schools. No if's ands or buts!

However, Gov Bev decided to try to balance the budget with funds she robbed from the sacred cow, the NC Education Lottery.

Can you believe the snake oil she's trying to peddle to the people of NC now? She is now running all around the state saying we need to raise taxes so that the state will not have to fire teachers!

If she and her allies hadn't robbed the NC EDUCATION LOTTERY there would be money in the fund not only to pay those teachers but to hire more!

Sorry Bev, we aren't buying your snake oil. When it comes time to vote for Gov you can bet I'll vote for someone else.

As a teacher and NCAE member I was one of several thousand educators who helped elect fellow NCAE member Beverly Perdue Governor of NC.

Almost immediately Governor Perdue turned her back on the teachers in this state by using funds collected EXCLUSIVELY AND BY LAW ONLY FOR EDUCATION to balance the state's budget. This was illegal since the fund, called the N.C. EDUCATION LOTTERY, was passed by the voters of this state with the stipulation that the funds could not be used for any other purpose!

The net result of Governor Perdue's theft of funds from the N.C. Education Lottery was that there was an immediate shortfall in the state education budget. The state did not have the money to replace the money illegally taken from the Lottery. Therefore there had to be cuts across the board in all 100 counties, a hiring freeze, teachers and support personnel laid off, equipment and supplies not ordered.

Who was responsible for this?---Beverly Perdue

Our governor realizing that she is losing the support of the teachers in this state reacts by going around the state having "town meetings" with teachers and others surrounding her saying taxes must be raised to prevent teacher layoffs.

Beverly Perdue, bless your heart, are you Blonde?
