County's Jobless Rate Up To 9.3% In February

Greene County's unemployment rate rose to 9.3 percent in February percent from 9.1 percent in January, according to the state's Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

These aliens come here and can get, food stamps, insurance, welfare, don't have to pay taxes, free clothing, families first, and all the other organized or unorganized incomes to be recieved by the state or local people. I know this for a fact I used to work with more than 100 illegal aliens and 6 Americans in a surgoinsville pet manufacturing facility. They have another facility in Arizona. There were 15 different families using one social security number. These people don't know not to tell info like that. they don't think it will hurt them and 99.9 percent of the time it won't. They think that marrying a young adult female will get to keep them here regardless if they are married in mexico. these women don't know that either. I was real good friend with one of the wives and she spoke english pretty fluent and she didn't think she was doing any wrong by saying all of this. The only bills they had were a car and truck payment because section 8 paid for their rent. How can they get all of this when I paid in for it and I can't recieve any of this? What is our Goverment thinking? I think our nation will come crashing down over this when they fully approve it. When they Take over the senate, and presidency they will know how we feel when they can't get a job or help...

I was born and raised in the United States, but I can tell you if had been born in Mexico and I knew that I could make a better life for myself and my family - and it was all waiting within walking (or running) distance, I too would take my chances. I work with immigrants and I can tell you they WORK. They have taken a huge chance with arrest and deportation and believe me they didn't run across that border for a free ride. These people ARE doing jobs most of us will not do, i.e. clean toilets, mop floors, pick up trash. And guess what, taxes ARE taken from these people, even though their SS number is not legitimate.....where is that money going? They are too afraid to file for a tax return at the end of each year. Many of them work while sick or in pain - why because they are afraid to seek medical treatment, afraid they will be turned away from this glorious country and all of it opportunities. All I ask is that you put yourselves in their shoes.....what about your grand parents, or great grand parents - how would you have wanted them to be treated when they first migrated to this country?

Maybe you want do but there are alot of people that would take that job in a heartbeat. Most are turned down because of stupid reasons, which most are so they can justfy hiring cheaper labor. I am ex-military and could not get job for along time because they considered me either over qualified or under-qualified. But most of these jobs I found out later went to people that where not qualified at all. I most people that don't have a lot of things, it is hard to get a job unless you know somebody, already have money, will work for practicly nothing, and the best one of all is that you are no threat to their job.

Many people's grandparents and parents did come to this country as aliens, but LEGAL aliens. Once you come into this country legally you become a part of America.
We have many people with misplaced anger over this issue. They are mad at the illegals when they should be mad at their Mayors and Governors for allowing this to go on in their towns and states. The people are here illegally, there is no question. The local governments do nothing about the problem. it's no different than if they did nothing about other illegal actions.

They work hard so that makes it ok to break the law?? And by the way, I lost my job to a mexican temp person who couldn't even speak english. I worked my tail off and have a certificate for perfect attendance. It's all about the almighty dollars the companies can make. They didn't care that I couldn't pay my bills. Once they discovered this temp system, a lot of good workers lost their jobs for BS reasons.

that is the big problem with these mexicans. they are here illegally. but i guess them working hard and doing jobs that we won't do makes it okay. if you asks anybody except a few they would take a job no matter what to feed their family. a few people might not but 99 percent would take something to feed their family. it all comes down the money. i agree that these temp agency are the worst thing to come here since the illegals. they use people like a piece of toliet paper. once the use them for awhile they just get rid of them. then the company want to say that american don't what to work. that the company i work for. the owner was screwing around with his suckatary. then made her head of human resource. then her got caught screwing here and now this same women is now the owner of the company and is still head of human resource. then they can't figure out why nobody is staying at this job. they have cut pay and vacation taken any bonus we used to receive because he has to come up with 27 million dollar to give to his now exwife. then they turn around and give any mexican a month off to go see their family, but they fired a american because he blood cot remove from around his heart and would miss about a month of work. wonder why people are sick of illegals. maybe another view needs to look at both side instead of its view. may this person is one of these greedy owners.
