Twiggs school plan stalls

Efforts to reopen Dry Branch Elementary School in Twiggs County have hit another snag: It could cost more than $1 million to get the building in shape, and the school system already is operating at a deficit.
For a certificate of occupancy from the state, Dry Branch Elementary would need to be tested for lead and inspected for bats, and its roof, electrical and septic systems would need repairing, according to a report from the state fire marshal's office and the state Department of Education. This school has been closed for 1 year, let's see if we can find any more stupid reasons for keeping the school closed! I truely believe this is only excuses to keep it closed and not "valid" reasons. Dry Branch citizens came together to get new board members and can do it AGAIN! What happened to all the promises made to them, was it just to get in your office?
