Guest Viewpoint: All riders are the same under TCAT system

If this had been fiction then why the sudden urge to the defense of the company? The truth is exactly what it is! You can try to cover the issue with your point of view but in the end you made a choice to express the concerns of the TCAT Organization. Thanks for the show of equality for ALL the riders.

It is pretty well evident that the TCAT orgainzation is a very biased one. Now we have the same person who continually runs it into the ground rushing to defend its actions. This is an honorable gesture but the facts do not change from the original issue. TCAT does cater to the Cornell organization period.
When TCAT is struggling to keep itself afloat it is not getting any additional support from the one who most needs the services. Tcat was once a part of the Cornell organization and gave it up for the loss of the liability issues that accompany the service. Why not allow Cornell to intervene here take the reins once again and let the taxpayers just pay the reduced fares that they now do? A huge organization like Cornell has all the faculties needed to make TCAT again come alive.
I was also one of the lucky riders who waited for a bus that was not coming. When we went to work the next day we were informed that there were in excess of 20 drivers in the break room waiting to go do the routes for Cornell! That is somewhat biased and appaling to the rest of the county that you are increasing the fares for.
So wether it is 4:00 am of 8:00 pm, ALL the parts of this system pay equal shares and deserve equal fares! Trying to recover losses from past poor spending decisions should not be the problem of a small group of riders.
Anywhere else within ANY buisness the actions of the TCAT Management staff would result in a change of leadership. Continue to run a deficit and look for a new job is a common scenario within buisness. Here we just dig a bigger, deeper hole to fill and hope that we find the money tree. We would like to know just what cutbacks that the TCAT staff is taking to help offset this terrible trouble with spending that is occuring at TCAT.
It ia pretty simple, if you are having all these problems with no end in sight. It is clearly time for a new perspective to oversee the organization and take ahold of the reins of a runaway budget. I guess the laymans terms are a bit easier, If you can't handle the hest, get out of the kitchen!!
We can see from afar the ride we are in for when you keep spending money that you do not have. Our country cannot balance a budget but that does not give you the right to continue to fund your vacations from the taxpayers!!

Upper management needs to change at tcat. I think their non-driver administrative staff has more than doubled in the 10+ years that I have been riding. Brink back Rod Ghearing. A lot of people thought things would change when he left. Well, they did. Turco's changes are about as beneficial as Obama's. At least Obama can be voted out!
