Indiana county asks Chrysler to repay $5.5M in bonds

Tipton County, Ind., is asking Chrysler LLC to return $5.5 million dollars in bonds the county issued to build a transmission manufacturing plant.

Starting to make since how fiat is getting 35% of the stake in chrysler, without paying any money. They might be supplying transmissions. Also make you curious if chrysler had been brewing it up months before and why all of the sudden they wanted "out" of the getrag deal!

Getrag failed to get its financing in order and Chrysler took advantage of it to get out of contract. I don`t see how Chrysler is to blame! Tipton should of never even tried to do this deal with the bone heads in county and city office`s that would never understand how corporate America works

There are two sides to every story. Getrag and Chrysler both messed up the deal. Chrysler had some financial commitments to Getrag, and we all know how Chrysler beats up on the suppliers. Heck the big stall half way through the project was Chrysler wanted to buy fewer tranny's at the same price.
