Homeowners Have Concerns about Property Values
#1 Mar 26, 2008
You go dad! You are so--- right. If they keep it up all property is going to belong to the government because no one will be able to afford it. Then what? There is a reason why foreclosure is on the rise!

I think my brother hit it on the head, he said that with the 1% cap coming on property that they will assessed it at the highest rate possible so that they can collect as mush as they can.
My assessment went from $151,000 to $186,900 and the house next to mind sold last year for $132,000. I think this is totally out of whack.

I did a little research. On Mr. Yoder's value. According to the Approved Property Assessments 2007: Tippecanoe that can be obtained through the J&C. His proberty went up $66,000 to $66,900 1.36%. So I think you need to tell the whole story and not just what you want to. Taxes sre not going up 38 to 40%. As for the flood was this year, maybe his new value next year will reflect what happened after the new assesments come out. I think TV 18 has it out for Miss Steele. She is doing much better than the last assesor. Especially since she finally has a reputable firm to work with!!!!!!!!

My house assessed over 20% higher. The house was built in 1951,and has had no improvements.Half of my yard is a pond, and does not drain well. How in the heck could there be an increase, unless it is to generate a higher tax?I am new to home ownership in Indiana, therefore,I'm not really well versed in property issues, but I will be learning, immediately. If someone has information, help me out!
