That Callahan guy was running an errand for his wife who'd gone into labor. He was trying to get back to her when he jumped a curb.4 years was excessive. Now his wife and kids are with out his earnings.I see no justice in his sentance.
Gang bangers aren't as harshly sentanced as he was. Of course he had Ron McGiver for a "lawyer". He stood there and did nothing to defend this young man.
And gangbangers and child molesters are free to walk the streets, because the Corning cops are busy at the other end of town stopping Callahan's " crime spree" My heart goes out to his family. They will really struggle for the next four years,

He admitted to running because he didn't have a drivers license and was on PAROLE. Any time you flee from the cops in a vehicle you also endanger the lives and safety of the public. He should of been given more time than what he was given.

It would not have mattered which public defender he had. They all just stand around and do nothing. It is part of their job description. The only way you can possibly even start to get a fair trial in this county is if you hire an attorney totally away from this county. And that will not guarentee anything. The judges then do what the hell they want. This county takes children away from familes, puts innocent people behind bars and ruins familes. There is no hope for Tehama County

Ah there's the rub, He wasn't actually on parole when that happened. A serious mix up in his paperwork.I still feel bad for his family. They were victimized too. No man is an island. If we locked up everybody for what might happen, we'd all get locked up.

I agree that sentence is way too harsh. One loser who stole a car and wrecked a bunch of other cars had multiple DUI's and no license and was a Fellon got the same sentence.

I think you can go online now for that. How come there is a known child molester living on Prune St in Corning , just down the street from the school? Everyday dozens of kids walk right past his place to go to school. How is that possibl;e?

Ok, I'll tell you what harsh is. Harsh is that man molesting my sister and I when we were children, and only serving 8 months in jail, only to molest 2 more little girls. Harsh is him beating his family and emotionally/mentally abusing us because he's a druggie and alcoholic loser!!! I'm his oldest daughter, and I don't feel sory for that thing you feel sorry for because he's spending 64 years for being a nasty pervert.......Not to mention, he had intentions to do that to my 2 daughters. Is that harsh enough now?
