Mr. Langford...the only way you have the right to this comment...is if you sir, have caused an accident that resulted in the death of someone you knew and cared about...only then can you comment, it will matter, and someone will listen.

i agree with jack langford as my husband was nearly killed by a drunk driver in 2006. the guy that hit him was only 21 (just learning how to handle alcohol & the consequences of driving under the influence). i'd always thought prior to almost losing my husband that someone who is intoxicated is UNABLE to make a carefull / clear-headed decision about driving. now it is ALL TOO clear how important it is to teach young people about panning ahead... designate the sober or DO NOT DRIVE! also, the punishment for killing 2 people doesn't seem right (to me). i feel certain that he should have received the maximum punishment for this CRIME! again, having nearly lost someone, i may appear bitter, but the laws in Texas are not nearly what they should be concerning DWI or intox. assault or MANSLAUGHTER! MADD is working with me to change said laws.

GOD BLESS YOU AND MAD FOR TRYING TO GET THE LAWS IN TEXAS changed ; YOU ARE WHAT YOU DO. MAD makes a very BIG FOOT PRINT until it hits home people just do not understand how it can HURT to lose a LOVE ONE until it happens to them. I was raised in JOHN TARLETON HOME for kids because of bad descisions by my mom and dad. THE alcohol will get you sooner or later in the end if you have KIDS it hurts then also just much if not more, Yes the MAX is what I say also NO LESS.
