If these students are prevented from voting, so should other students (in colleges, high schools, etc). I mean after all, in today's society, how long do any of us know how long we will be anywhere. Sounds like sour grapes to me(does somebody think they would win/lose by the 12 votes these students cast in any election election.....PLEAAAAASSSEEE!)

Besides, when did Mike Clampitt check to see if certain students who voted in the last election were still at the Center? Could it be after the Center was 'temporarily closed' and the students sent to other Centers? Dirty pool Mike!!!

So where, at what number of possibly illegal votes would you draw the line?

I guess it would depend what 'illegal' means. These young adults should be able to vote like everyone else, or everyone else in student (therefore temporary resident?) status should also be denied the ability to vote. I don't see how you can have it both ways.

I understand one of the challenges to Job Corps students voting is that they are told (in writing prior to arrival) to "bring only 2 weeks worth of clothing". The reason they are told this is because of the limited storage space in the dormitories...not that they will only be in Swain County for only 2 weeks!. They are legally allowed to stay in the program for up to 2 years.

I hope the BOE can see through all the 'fog' and render a fair and equitable ruling!
